I don't think this is the most unrealistic scenario, but ACC loses FSU and Clemson they're no longer a P4 conference. Simple as that. So they'd just be moving up to a better G conference.
Obviously the ACC should be doing everything they can to keep FSU and Clemson. So yeah the "just let them walk" comment is ridiculous.

Right, but I don't think we make such an asinine comment if we were in their position.....and we kind of are because I'm sure our phone would ring first in that scenario, but we would let it go to voicemail.
I wouldn't want to join an ACC without those teams.....plus I'm pretty sure letting them "walk" would trigger NC and Miami to put on a full court press to leave also.
