I've always been a big fan of both major party conventions and all the excitement and drama they always seem to produce. But -- for me at least -- the jury is out on what this year's online versions will be like. My gut tells me they will both be duds.
I would like to think that both parties have technical experts who have spent time figuring out ways to make the online versions capture some of the excitement of the normal, in-person versions, but I have my doubts. The 'trail run' for the democrats was Biden and Kamala's joint appearance last week and while the speeches were okay, it still felt weird to watch them give their speeches without any audience and the juice they give to a presentation.
Anyway, it will be interesting to watch how these new few nights go for the Democrats.
