DG definitely made the right decision when he left Gus

I thought DG couldn't beat top-tier competition?
One time in his sixth season isn't a trend. Let's spend the time to dwell on the fact that "It's his 6th season as a "college" QB (Yes, one where he got injured but he is now playing in his 5th full season because of COVID. This shouldn't even be happening if COVID didn't happen). The Zenmaster says, "We'll see." on him winning HW. No doubt he's a stud with arm strength and accuracy. His teams never get over the hump to glory so far.

Highlights:
None so far. Has played for zero conference championships. Is 1-3 in Bowl games.

I wish he was here n Gus didn’t run him off I also wish we didn’t have Gus’ HS scheme. This administration has given him EVERYTHING to succeed

I agree with the availability of resources. That is no longer an excuse any staff could use.

What??? He beat Texas last year too. The kid is obviously a stud. You still sound bitter over him leaving UCF. Which was a genius decision based on what Gus has done to our program.

Did he play for the Big12 title last year? I'm not bitter. If this fanbase has expectations of being a 9-10 win a season with no hardware than I don't know what that is. It's always about hardware. If you have elite expectations, then it's all about winning hardware, which is above worrying about record, although they go very hand-in-hand. He has yet to play for or win conference hardware at any place he has played yet. That's all I'm saying. He's a really good QB. I'd love to have him back but I can also be objective to what goals are, and measuring against them.

I got to watch the 4th quarter of that game. It's refreshing to watch good football being played.

It will be interesting if DG makes it to the NFL. He def is very accurate passer.

He’s definitely a great college QB. He would definitely get a chance in the NFL, I don’t know if he’s big enough unfortunately for his style of play.

The announcers kept on mentioning his height, but then he throws a spiral completion for another first down. Does height matter when you are that accurate of a passer? idk, Tua has done good (when healthy), Drew Brees comes to mind. I get that you gotta see over your offensive line, but we will see. DG is an interesting story for CFB. Lets see if he can keep it going. Beating Ohio State is pretty impressive!

He has played two college careers for draft eligible players and is older than Caleb Williams who is playing for the Bears right now. With that many reps and opportunities it would eventually happen. I never wanted him to leave though but it is kind of ridiculous that he and Cam Rising are still in school.

If he were still here and Gus was still here would it make any difference?

Gabriel had a last minute 75 yard TD drive scoring with a pass td with 15 seconds on the clock to beat Texas last year when Texas was #3. Don't think he will have a bigger moment than that. Both teams were 5-0 at the time.

UCF needs a hard reset. There’s plenty of potential in the football program but new leadership (young HC) is needed.

I’m not opposed to hiring a young HC, but the idea that younger is better is ridiculous. I love what Frost did at UCF, but his young self was a gigantic flop at Nebraska.

Hiring a successful new HC is at best a 50/50 proposition. According to this article, older head coaches are more successful.

And things can change quickly. Norvell has gone from a young superstar coach the program extends long term at an enormous salary….. for fear of losing him…to a guy many FSU fans want canned. TCU’s HC has gone from a hero in the NC game to a huge disappointment the last two seasons. I’m hoping UCF’s coach can maintain success long term….year in and year out and not simply be a flash in the pan.

Old, young…I could care less what their age is as long as they win at UCF….but there is nothing to suggest that younger is better. I’ll say it again….there isn’t a program out there who wouldn’t run out and sign Nick Saban’s prehistoric bones and pay him a gazillion dollars.

I do love the discussion about Frost. 'Did well at UCF and flopped at Nebraska." It's as if those saying it don't realize that UCF is UCF, meaning if he's re-hired (won't be) he'd be at UCF, not Nebraska. So you basically are saying Ignore the possible new HC at UCF because he was successful at UCF then went someplace else that wasn't UCF, but please completely ignore the experience at UCF. Sorry, but you really can't compare Nebraska to Big XII UCF because Nebraska isn't UCF. Did the point get across yet? By the way, the current Big XII isn't the BIG 10, as everyone will tell you. It also isn't the AAC but it sure as hell is alot closer to the old PAC, which by the way, he was successful as an OC. But ignore that because the experience at UCF will in no way give you a hint of how he'll coach at UCF.

PS, not sure I'd want Frost, but he's in no way worse than Gus who's ruining every player he gets. By the way, UCF now is not in as bad a condition as Nebraska was when Frost got control. But ignore all that because success coaching UCF is no way sign of future success at UCF. Hilarious.

I haven’t read anyone saying ignore Frost coming back to UCF. The fact is he flopped at Nebraska….a Blueblood program having more resources than not only UCF, but the overwhelming majority of schools. It probably had a lot to do with the jump up in competition for recruits and on the field. There aren’t as many cupcakes as in the AAC. There aren’t as many cupcakes in the Big 12 either.

I will forever love Frost for what he did at UCF, but to assume he’d do the same thing in the Big 12 because “UCF is UCF” and not Nebraska is a 50/50 proposition at best. …and based on his last performance at one of the blueblood programs in the country with every resource in the world is …unlikely. Matt Rhule is currently 5-1 in his second season at the same Nebraska Frost coached.

Everything you said about your confidence in Frost’s ability to do it again at UCF is wiped away when even you’re not all in. “PS, not sure I’d want Frost” 😀

“Did the point get across yet? “ 😜
