Dont Say Gay bill in Florida

Thre is no way to forget about skin color, it is a visual thing that unless we all go blind, we arent going to just forget about. The goal is to have a society where skin color doesnt matter, not to just pretend we all have the same color of skin.

I agree, performance based seems appropriate.

But that won't happen as long as individual races are singled out for better/for worse... The first [race] [gender] [position/title] is no longer needed in the 21st century.

End does not justify the means...

It is needed it if it the first. I mean, it is just a fact that Obama was the first black president, Harris the first female VP, etc. You can choose to ignore that if you wish, but it doesnt change the fact that it is a true statement.

Maybe I misunderstood your previous post of:

"The goal is to have a society where skin color doesnt matter, not to just pretend we all have the same color of skin."

...you're not only one that does this, but I do think this hinders progress towards a color-careless society.

I dont understand your point or what your issue is with my statement. Obama was the first black president, this is a factual statement. We are supposed to just ignore reality now? I also dont understand why you posted that picture in your previous post. Are you insinuating they arent qualified or something?

Today I ate a chick filet burrito for breakfast... Fact, yes... Should it / does it matter, no.

You said color shouldn't matter... I agree with you.

Then you say it's important to recognize achievements of people, separated by color, because it's factual... That is contradictory to your previous statement.

You follow?

Factual statements arent contradictory, I dont understand why you think that. Whether you think Obama should be considered the first black president or not, doesnt change the fact he was the first black president. What it bizarre though, is that what I am pointing out is racial progress, which I think is what we all want, yes? So why then deny that progress? It makes no sense.

You either want a society where color doesn't matter... Or you want a society to acknowledge achievements categorized by color.

They are mutually exclusive.

They arent mutually exclusive. First off, a society where color doesnt matter is an ideal, it doesnt mean we are there yet. Secondly, pointing out that we have had a black president, female VP, etc, is a sign that color and gender, is starting to matter less and we have made progress, but we arent allowed to point that out? Plus, it is also just a fact. Obama was the first black president, whether you want to acknowledge that or not, doesnt make it any less true.
