Dr. Cartwright UCF President

Seek psychiatric help UCFBS said: How about I come over and blow your ****ing brains out mother****er?

I work at Redstone-Marshall. It's the one place where there are as many Auburn engineers as Alabama engineers, if not more. These people are in their 'Orlando echo chambers' still posting Auburn articles from 2019-2021, thinking they are relevant in 2024. I mean ...

Even 'Fire Gus!' Auburn fans said he was a great person, and that's the one thing they'd miss. Harsin ... that was weird. That's when the fans started questioning the Boosters, at least some of them did, even if they didn't like Harsin, and didn't want him. Florida fans have the same view of other G5 coaches they hired too.

But then Freeze, now ... there was a bit more 'concern,' they didn't like him as a person, but still ... they were trying to be patient. But then ... Freeze started throwing kids under-the-bus, and then ... yeah, 0-3 (now 0-4). If they had a choice between Gus and Freeze, they'd pick Gus, because ... as you said ...

Exactly! But around here, Gus is why 'No kids want to come here and play for him!' That statement is just laughable to anyone at Auburn. Question the play calling, okay, that's an argument. But to say otherwise, utterly ignoring how lauded Gus is ... by everyone?! Ergo ...

But... but... but... Gus is the cause of all the problems ... 4 years later ... right?! *

Really?! I thought Gus was such a problem?! And Parents/Recruits won't come to UCF because of Gus?! *

As I said, it's laughable. I'm all open to firing Gus, and considering someone else, but ... we have to not spew emotional BS that doesn't stick. Let's get serious about who we would bring in, and why.

Enough Auburn fans are admitting ... the Boosters didn't do that at times.

Are you really going to argue JRP didn't give us the change to win 5 out of 6 last year? And what if he had been 100% all year?!

So ... what you're saying is that Milton sucked too, right? Did you watch the 2017 Auburn game? Milton struggled at times. And let us not forget 2016!!!

Welcome to the P4.

Competitive is how you win games. We're less competitive this year. We've regressed. We have KJ to thank for that, and ... Gus for not benching him sooner. But had Gus done that, you'd be complaining Gus benched the half-million dollar kid, especially if Gus benched him coming out of camp.

You know you would!

Yes, Iowa State was the first Big XII game where we were competiive this year. And that sucks. But ... at least we have a QB#1 that wasn't a sloth, and he ran for over 150 yards, while our RB#1 ran for 200+. That makes us more competitive. The timing with receivers will come with time.

Which is why the main thing I will blame Gus for is not benching KJ after game 1. We'd be doing better now if Brown had 5 more games under his belt.

It's as simple as that.

But most everything else here ... total joke. People can't be objective at all about this. They are emotional about it, subjective, and ... want to blow $12-25M+. How'd that work out for Auburn?!

Oh, that's right, Gus is still to blame for Freeze some 4 years later, let alone Harsin before that! * (sigh...)
Do you keep photos on your wall too ?

The guy is nuts. He even said that he needs to see a psychiatrist. I don’t even post here anymore, but he keeps tagging me.

Probably best to ignore him. He’s sociopathic. He doesn’t interact outside of here socially like other people.
If you see him at games, he’s very strange.

In 1 breath says no one at Auburn blames Gus for current coaching sucking but he blames Heupel for Malzahn sucking. All of Heupels geed players left and it’s all Gus. Gatewoods, KJs, Richard’s type players. Guys taking up roster spots and nothing else. Why have 4 good RBs and you only need 3 tops? Bring in Boone and Montgomery? Johnny could have been 3rd and you bring in an extra QB or O Lineman.

He’s a fraud

7 games, zero fumble recoveries. Only 2 forced fumbles all season. That has to be at the bottom of FBS because you can't be worse than zero.

[Only 3 fumble recoveries in the entire 2023 season, all 3 by the same player who is injured this year].

Jacurri Brown:

8-20, 62 yards, 0 TDs, 2 INTs, 3.1 yds per attempt

Gus has been here 4 years and just cannot figure out the QB position. To roll out these QB numbers in 2024 is basically forfeiting. The only reason the game was close was the 2 long INT returns.
3.1 yards per attempt?? 😬 Ouch.

And there's a new one.

Dude, the only thing I ever said is that I am regularly evalutated because of the positions I hold. There's a huge difference. And the context I said that in was defending Mormons. I deal with Mormons reguarly in financial and government. There's a reason for that.

We don't drink. A nice side benefit is that we don't say things we have to ignore or otherwise pretend we don't say. You seem to have a problem with that. Just visit the archives.

Ummm ... pot meet kettle. You tag me, along with your funny buddies in the cabal.

Where the **** do you even interact with me? And I also live in another state.

Wtf man??? I don't even read all of the stuff that you write. You and that Auburn guy really need to find other things to do.
And this is why you don't understand anything. You just say "Fire Gus!" and everything will be solved.

There’s just too much data over 4 years to know that moving on from this staff is needed. It isn’t a knee jerk reaction at this stage.
Just like Whittingham ... they had even more years, a decade even, plus 3 -- not just 2 -- in the Big XII. They should have fired him too.

Expectations are high for a program with 3 all-time wins over Top 10 teams and whose previous two coaches left for other jobs.

OMG…this UCFBS character is great. Dude is totally unhinged.
Be careful, people will say it’s your 3rd account. No one can make these thoughts up. A genius couldn’t think of a better way to rile everyone up than those other 2.

Only Mikes has 3 accounts. BTW, I'm not tagging him, despite what he says (no user tag here). And it's the truth when I point this out.

@UCFBS likes bolding parts of his posts just like @AuburnLegacy_1 and their unhinged defense of everything Malzone does is something you will never find in another sports forum.

I’m well aware of him. Funny how he’s the center of a lot of drama. Didn’t go to UCF but he’s one of the loudest people about it.
Fair enough.

I own everything I say. I've become more 'abrassive' since 2021 for a reason, and everyone was warned why ...
People going off-board ... again (like 2014). People pissing on fellow Knights, even dead ones.

So I admit, I can 'amplify sh--' myself now. I am no longer just the 'whipping boy' for some, and I call out all the made up sh-- about me (no longer let things stand). Pissing on the graves of other Knights was my 'final straw.'

That and my wife finally saying, "Enough!" She has a PhD from UCF (I'm glad Mikes finally stopped picking on her, after he was told 'watch it'), and is 'known enough' in the SE US academic circles. Even she said someone is 'going to shoot him' someday. He loves it when it goes off-board, but -- as I said -- it's stopped (for now).

Because yes, there are too many people who believe Mikes, and get others riled up, and posting about 10-12 other people (not just myself), and totally ruins a thread. He gets off on starting it too, especially if he can get new people to blame others. And when people 'ignore him,' he takes it 'off-board' to 'get it started' ... yet again.

I don't believe in banning anyone, but I do believe Rivals finally did say something about him posting garbage 3-10 per post (i.e., someone posts 1 time, he response 3-10x with lots of copy'n paste garbage), at least outside of the Water Cooler (which is useless for off-topic), or at least when he does it in the paid Dungeon. That is a repeat (multi-year) violation of Rival's terms of service.

He was locked out of his account for a week, and told 'take a break,' and still created a new account to post. He's done one other, so he has at least 3. And yes, he doesn't know some of us know about that 3rd. Remember ... I do Cyber for my primary role. Nothing illegal, but it's easy to get.

Browsers and phones are quite exposing on their own, and leave plenty of crumbs. :)

And yet everyone says otherwise, people who are actually experts, analysts, et al. You guys are so sure of yourself, all while you share articles from Auburn media 2019-2021, but none from 2024.

Saying Gus is going to destroy UCF football like he did Auburn is a joke we laugh at up here. Gus didn't hire and fire Harsin. And it's not former players under Gus bashing him on social media, but Freeze.

Anyone who says that up here gets told to shut up. And saying kids are leaving because of Gus is even more laughable. Gus will always support what the kids want to do, that's why parents and recruits love him, not vice-versa.

Yes, yes, like he ruined Auburn. Nope, it wasn't the Boosters. Nope, it wasn't the whinny fans.

A lot of Auburn fans who wanted Gus fired are the first ones who defend the type of person he is, and sees these comments as laughable. Sure, his play calling and personnel decisons are up for debate.

But stop saying kids are leaving because of him. No, Gus supports them, and let's them do what they want for their careers. You want that type of coach. And a lot of 'fire Gus' Auburn fans would take him back in a heartbeat versus how Freeze treats the kids, and how much their recruiting is going into the toilet.

Your 'facts' are literally pulled out of your rectum! If you cannot argue with facts and just regularly discredit yourself, I don't know what to tell you.

You literally aren't watching other programs.

It's happening all over. There are programs with a dozen-plus kids who redshirted and went into the portal mid-season.

The 4 game redshirt rule just hit when Gus came in, and didn't even have a 2021 recruiting class

Why is it when I call out BS that I'm 'unhinged?'

You literally keep discrediting yourself acting like we're the only program that has the 4 game redshirt and mid-season transfer issue.

I guess I'm always 'unhinged' when I call out people who argue with emotion. If you would make a valid point, I'll agree.

But you, among other people, just want Gus fired for $12M+, and then want to bring in yet others with yet another $6-15M+ buy out.

I don't know what to say... other than... "Dino!" :)
Did you fail reading comprehension ? 90% of the stuff you say is not even part of my argument. That being said, the things that you do contend are wrong. You got way too much time or are too indoctrinated into things that are meaningless. Good luck talking to yourself. 🤪

Because just like with DG ... people like you you want to talk the things outside of what I'm focused on. You say it's not relevant. And that's why it's laughable. You have to be willing to talk about all the realities, not just the ones you want to.

Ignoring they exist doesn't remove that they did exist. :)

So before DG opened up his recruiting again ... it didn't matter?! Not at all?!

I'll be here in 3 years. We'll see if I'm correct... yet again. As I said, I wear Dino like a badge. :)

Same with bashing Milton in '16, and Frost for going with him. That one took less than a year.

You didn't even address what I stated. And kept talking much later. You refused to address why DG took forever to change. He didn't want to change, until he had an offer. That was well documented on this board.

That's why I agreed with you on all your later points. But you refused to address those earlier realities. :)

This is how it works on this board. Ignore some of what you don't want to address. Act like the past doesn't exist. Most of the same 'Fire Gus' people now, were 'Fire Heupel,' and they won't own it. They'l even double-down how Heupel left UCF perfect for Gus.

No, he must hate me because I don't want to waste all the money firing Gus now, and ... I remember a lot of people upset with Heupel too, the same ones now saying Heupel was great.

To be fair Heupel's offense is significantly better and he had zero control over defense.

Heupel has also been successful post UCF. I don't think Malzahn would have same success at Tenn.

I never hated Heupel. We were scoring points and putting pressure on their D. This years team can score against no so great defenses but any decent one and not many points.

Okay, I'll meet you half-way there. But you do have to admit our D went into the toilet, and we had an exodus that started before the pandemic.

No argument there. But I look at 2024 like I do 2016. We have a completely new QB#1. Although I do blame Gus for not doing with Brown no later than game 2.

Spending nearly a half-mil on KJ, without KJ's commitment, is pretty much the killer.

I think your partly wrong here, and making an apples to oranges comparison. People were worried about Heupel because he was a young coach and in 2020 the team seemed to regress quite a bit. (heck I'll admit I was one of those people) However, he had a DC forced on him and the team regressed in the COVID shortened 2020 year. Heupel did not have the experience nor the resources that Gus currently has and seemingly did more with less. He has also matured and excelled when given greater resources at Tennessee.

As a risk assessor you must see the absolute probability that UCF will continue to regress under Gus and this will effect revenue in ticket sales, merchandising, etc. it also could have a huge impact in the ever changing landscape of college football.

As a personnel manager you would have to question a manager who has consistently made poor hiring choices and lacks situational awareness on the job.

I agree the buyout is a problem and that is a whole other issue that reeks of nepotism. Say what you will about Freeze, Auburn at least structured his contract in a way to make a possible buyout palatable.

Reminds me of those thinking Plumlee was going to take a leap in his 5th year. I assume then your expectations is a minimum of 9 wins in 2025 to be somewhat equivalent to 2017 jump.

I can actually meet in you half-way on that. I also give Heupel somewhat of a 'reduced critique' because of the 2020 sesaon.

Still, BYU smacked the heck out of us, and that had a lot to do with issues during the sesaon, not just the pre-season hold-outs/exits. But I cannot blame Heupel 100% for that.

As a risk assessor you must see the absolute probability that UCF will continue to regress under Gus
It's way, way too early to tell. Seriously. The risk of changing coaches now, in Year 2 of a Power conference is much greater than keeping Gus through at least 8 games of 2025. It would be just as wrong as TCU firing Patterson in Year 2, or even Utah firing Whittingham in year 3.

We literally could get a Harsin-Freeze result, and I'd say that's far more probable. At least Gus has parental/recruit mindset, and that's something every Auburn fan right now, especially the ones that wanted Gus fired, wishes they had in Freeze, but don't. And ... when you realize most of this comes down KJ, and the fact that Brown is just becoming QB#1, you have to give that time.

Yes, Gus has to show improvement over the next dozen games, no argument. And his buy-out is lowered too. But you have to recognize, we suck, there's a reason for that (KJ), and we're 'stuck with it,' for now. If we just fire Gus now, we take on a massive hit. It's going to be worse, not better. It all comes down to the mistake at the QB position. That happens. We're hardly alone!

Serious Q: If you went back to 2016, out of 10 UCF fans, how many would say Milton was a mistake? Would you fire Frost over it?

Gus gets to own KJ for 2024. And he gets to own Brown going into 2025. If he fails both, then we have a good argument for firing him. But not over 1 QB. Especially since JRP worked out well, had he been 100%.

and this will effect revenue in ticket sales, merchandising, etc.
Not compared to not only the cost of firing Gus, let alone if it costs to hire his replacement in a buy-out, but ...

Historically speaking, hires often suck, especially at the Power level. It's far more suck than bliss! :)

it also could have a huge impact in the ever changing landscape of college football.
The risk of not getting a trusted coach, who has major parent/recruit issues, is huge. I cannot stress this enough. Gus is extremely well liked by parents and recruits alike.

As a personnel manager you would have to question a manager who has consistently made poor hiring choices and lacks situational awareness on the job.
Whoa! Now hold on. 'Consistently made poor hiring choices?!'

And 'lacks situational awareness?' I actually like Gus' play calling. The problem is that KJ couldn't run the offense, and Gus had to simplifying things for him. Brown is also in that boat now too.

You could see Gus' utter frustration at times with KJ. KJ was failing. Brown, he's new. You cannot expect him to know what JRP did.

I agree the buyout is a problem and that is a whole other issue that reeks of nepotism. Say what you will about Freeze, Auburn at least structured his contract in a way to make a possible buyout palatable.
But he is a perfect example of how bad it can get. And he's hardly alone!
