Empty Cabana

The whole "I'm ok with spending a lot of my hard earned money so I can enjoy the event without having to interact with the masses" idea is what leads to stadium atmospheres like Notre Dame. Quiet, and not at all intimidating.

Pack us in together, make some noise and create an exciting and intimidating atmosphere. It's a college football game, not Cirque de Soleil. Jeebus, let's serve pinot noir and watercress sandwiches while we're at it.

So you're asking me to give up a section of assigned seats in the bottom few rows of the Cabana because you and some others are so insecure that you're embarrassed by the sight of boosters paying good money to UCFAA for the privilege of enjoying the gameday atmosphere in a way that was explicitly intended when the Cabana was created?

There are many of us in the Cabana that want an assigned seat, and actually spend a good deal of game time actually sitting in it. If UCFAA wants to create a 2 tiered pricing scheme for assigned- unassigned seating, with a premium on the lower sections closest to the Cabana I would understand. That's not what you're advocating though, is it?

"Someone must do something because I feel embarrassed" isn't a good look for anyone.
I'm not advocating for anything other than asses in seats. I don't care how much people spend to put them there as long as the University maximizes its profits in the process.

Guess whats missing ITT? Anyone asking folks already paying to be in the Cabana how to get butts in the seats without driving away the current patrons.

I'm sure glad the west side sth and living room tv fans know whats best for us cabana denizens.

If you pay for the Cabana, which is premium seating, you can sit wherever you want and do what you please. Who cares what it looks like on TV? If you ask me, it looks like a big, fun party on TV. Like a stadium that people want to go to. our fans are loud as well.

So... If we are on national TV and beat say Alabama, I can hear announcers, coaches, and fans saying:

" Wow.., UCF beat Alabama, but it's not really that great of a win because the Cabana people weren't in their seats. They were all sitting in the patio area. It left so many empty seats and looked so stupid, that it should effect their ranking in the polls!"

If you can't afford the Cabana, then stop being all butthurt. Save your money, work harder, get another job, or stop spending your money on stupid crap that you feel is more important than the Cabana. Like an I-phone 8 or whatever number they are up to now.

Every darn stadium has premium seating. If you want alcohol sales at the game, then write a letter to John Hitt, or whoever controls that.

Or...., just sneak in alcohol like i do. They were so lax about it last game, that my friend and I laughed about sneaking in a bottle of vodka or rolling in a keg next time.

Give 200 UCF marketing majors credits to be seat fillers in the Cabana. The seats stay filled and you don't have to feel bad about asking someone to get out of your seat when you want to sit there. Costs UCF nothing other than color coordinated shirts for the students fulfilling this important task.

The assumption that anyone who doesn't like that cabana can't afford it because they haven't worked hard enough is obnoxious. $50,000 millionaires acting like Kardashians because they can afford $900 or whatever the price is even worse.

That cabana reeks of small-time-ness. Does the Big House have a nightclub in the middle of it? The Horseshoe? The Coliseum? You who does though? USF and that stupid pirate ship. Great company to be in.

It's a gimmick. I don't want my team to need a gimmick to attract wanna-be-big timers with higher priced seats. I want a program who's so damn good that we need to pack people in and still charge higher prices.

Those stadiums would have loved to have a Cabana, but were probably built during prohibition they are so
old. Have you polled their fans?? They would gladly pay for a themed area with drinks. Maybe it's a Florida thing.

Come on dude. You're comparing us to those programs? We need the revenue and they don't

If you don't like it, then don't purchase it. It's here to stay. Point is, If you did anti up the $900 then you have the right to enjoy it and do as you please like any premium seat in every stadium in the country. Yes, even FIU stadium.

You want. You want. You want. Point is, you didn't have it in 2015.

So this is all because of people continually being insecure because of how we look on BeIN vs. FIU. Cool!

But this is a premium club with amenities ... not a goddamn party deck. Every stadium worth a shit has premium seating options and good on UCF for getting more $$$ per seat on that side of the stadium with a different option. Kudos indeed!

Lord knows those poor schools don't have the money to make renovations to build one if they wanted to. Maybe if they worked harder.

Those schools have big boy stadiums. The real big money donors are in skyboxes out of the way of the stadium seats.

You make a good point about generating revenue, but how much more are we actually making?

It's just my opinion, but it's all so very Florida...but not in a good way. Every person with $1000 wants to be in "VIP".

I love all the new school stuff UCF is doing. I just think a Cabana in the middle of the stadium is super cheesy.

Plus he's sitting next to Bizzle which makes that seat worth like twice as much. You are asking him to give up all of that? Please.

It may be very Florida, wannabe "VIPs" and cheesy. No doubt, but that's where we live and if it sells, that what UCF has to do.

What I'm saying basically is whether they want it or not, they aren't about to make that drastic of a change to a stadium built in 1920. If Michigan was building a whole new stadium now, who's to say that they wouldn't have some sort of themed beer garden or something.

I'll get on board if they do a Biketoberfest game, a Frat House Remembrance night(going back to the early 90's for that reference), serve Pub Burgers (another old school reference) and Daytona Beach Appreciation night where everyone gets an airbrushed personalized license plate and "FBI - Female Body Inspector" hat.
