Yes, let’s cycle through coaches every two to three years. That is how you build successful programs. We would be last place in the Big 12 this season
too much talent to be THIS BAD on offense

This. We need stability st the helm. Look at the dumpster fire in tampa to see what happens when you keep firing coaches. If we keep firing coaches, we end up like USF. Generally speaking, USF has been paying 2 head coaches for the better part of the last decade. The only one they didn't have to pay to leave was CWT - he bounced to 3 schools over 5 years (Oregon, FSU, and FAU). Last I heard, this is the final year of CCS's contract. USF has had Leavitt, Holz, Taggert, Strong, and Scott since 2010 when they fired Leavitt for his sideline performance.
We are about to move to a new conference where we will begin to see BIG12 money. I think the best thing for UCF is to keep Gus, if we continue to struggle in the BIG12, we will have money and will be able to get a new coach with less of a buyout.
didn’t say to fire him but the offense is embarrassingYes, let’s cycle through coaches every two to three years. That is how you build successful programs.
More like the execution of the offense, which I am in favor of…..didn’t say to fire him but the offense is embarrassing
I guess accidentally replied to your post. I was making a general comment in regards to the title of this thread.didn’t say to fire him but the offense is embarrassing
The ghost of John McKay, is that you? 😉More like the execution of the offense, which I am in favor of…..
"Well, we didn't tackle well today, but we made up for it by not blocking."The ghost of John McKay, is that you? 😉
Gus is in charge of entire team. He needs to take a step back and not let relationships dictate who plays and who keeps a job. He’s too close to players and coaches and can’t make tough decisions for better of the team. I don’t want him fired. I want him to be the CEO. Not the Dad.People seriously want to fire a coach when he's 12-5, has a stout defense...and has only had one true, full recruiting year? This is a troll thread...that's all this is.
Play-calling? That doesn't affect the WRs dropping passes on the numbers when wide open. if 75% of the passes that were dropped were actually caught, there would be different dialog about offense. I would focus ire at the WR coaches.
The only place where I see similarities with GOL is not showing a full playbook out-of-conference. GOL was notorious for "chess-playing" so opponents "miss-study" when entering conference play.
UCF could go 9-3 regular season, win the conference on its way out. That would be successful for ANY program in college football.
This is a rational, level approach. I can agree with this. Defense is fine. WR coach needs some ultimatum. Dropsies are like a virus.Gus is in charge of entire team. He needs to take a step back and not let relationships dictate who plays and who keeps a job. He’s too close to players and coaches and can’t make tough decisions for better of the team. I don’t want him fired. I want him to be the CEO. Not the Dad.
Interesting perspective. I hope this is the case. Huepel had some of this too. It was frustrating, but I understood it.The only place where I see similarities with GOL is not showing a full playbook out-of-conference. GOL was notorious for "chess-playing" so opponents "miss-study" when entering conference play.
Again, it’s the dumbest thread I’ve ever seen.People seriously want to fire a coach when he's 12-5, has a stout defense...and has only had one true, full recruiting year? This is a troll thread...that's all this is.

Fired today.I just have my doubts about him being fired this year but anything is possible these days. They just beat ECU so they are 1-0 in conference play.
his seat could be scorching hot in 11 months if recruiting flops and UCF has a 4-5 win year. This job is very attractiveI mean I know this is a novel idea, but UCF could keep Gus. Dabo Swinney's record at Clemson was 19-15 through 2.5 years.
Dabo can actually recruit and didn’t play a turn of the century offense. Gus is white Charlie strongI mean I know this is a novel idea, but UCF could keep Gus. Dabo Swinney's record at Clemson was 19-15 through 2.5 years.
It was the #11 offense?!?!?!didn’t say to fire him but the offense is embarrassing
Newsflash, we could keep all recruits and go with 4-5 wins. Adjusting to a P5 league will be difficult....playing a P5 schedule every week is something we won't be used to.his seat could be scorching hot in 11 months if recruiting flops and UCF has a 4-5 win year. This job is very attractive
it is funny seeing this now with how our fans would defend sos endlessly in 2017 when SEC fans would say we played nobodyNewsflash, we could keep all recruits and go with 4-5 wins. Adjusting to a P5 league will be difficult....playing a P5 schedule every week is something we won't be used to.
We went 4-0 against teams that finished ranked in the final AP Poll, after all games were played. People can say what they want. That team was a legit top 4 team and should have been playing in the CFI…whatever would have happened, would have happened.it is funny seeing this now with how our fans would defend sos endlessly in 2017 when SEC fans would say we played nobody
Careful talking about Dabo here. It triggers a certain element...I mean I know this is a novel idea, but UCF could keep Gus. Dabo Swinney's record at Clemson was 19-15 through 2.5 years.
