Under GOL's watch, UCF won conference championships...for the first time. Under GOL's watch, UCF won a BCS Bowl Game...for the first time. Under GOL's watch, UCF finished in the Top 10 nationally...for the first time.
It's not about stats and win percentages. It's about where the program was when he got here and where it was when he left. Not 1 season, but as a whole. Is the OC of a program as successful and "hot" as Oregon taking the UCF HC job after going 0-12 before GOL got here? No. No way.
That's why he deserves a statue.
