GOP state reps threatening to expel 3 Democrats

THey were basically chanting along with protesters in the gallery due to the school shooting in Nashville last week. OBviously most of you dont live in TN so I dont expect you to care that much, but this is some serious shit IMO. No one can see that video and think that is deserving of expulsion. Plus, this is a legislature mind you, that didnt expel a rep who was accused of sexual assault by 3 different girls when they were minors, and one of them recorded a phone call where he basically admitted to it. Another GOP Rep who tried to pull down a refs pants in the middle of a middle school basketball game with kids both on the court and in the stands, no consequence, and the last speaker was under federal indictment, and they took away his speakership, but he wasnt expelled. If those arent reasons for expulsion, then no way that video is a reason for expulsion. THis is more evidence the GOP doesnt believe in Democracy anymore, nothing more.

When it comes to political stupidity, it’s gonna be hard to top the stunt Tennessee GOP lawmakers did this week by expelling two Black Dems for their peaceful protest over gun violence. There was a third dem protestor — a white woman — but they voted not to expel her for some reason. (wink, wink)

It wasn't well thought out on their part. Instead of letting the three sit there with basically no power, they raised their profiles, and also put a spot light on all of their corruption.

Yup. All they accomplished is shining a light on themselves, and now all of their dirty laundry is going to be exposed. A lawyer in town is now talking about the speaker having mistresses, how he is essentially stealing from tax payer because he moved to Nashville, but still accepts the per diem for members who live more than 50 miles from Nashville, etc etc. How they didnt think this stunt was just going to turn a spot light on themselves, is beyond me.
