How hot does Gus seat get? Cause there were rumblings during the Louisville game that certain boosters left early. So it wasn’t just the fans who left because Gus can’t run an offense to save his life, but also it appears his “program” is turning off donors as well. People inside the club, employees not actually money, have said that some people in this area have called Gus “our Charlie Strong.” So if we lose to god forbid fau or GT does Gus seat get nuclear?

You must be about 24.

Ice cold. According to his contract If UCF fires him they owe him 75% of what is left, and his contract was cheap. He’s easily got until the end of 2023 before his seat gets hot, unless there is a complete program meltdown.

Let’s see him work with a QB who has at least a bit of “it” first. He lost a high-caliber QB last season and had to roll with a true freshman. It was a good season, all things considered. Plumlee is a stop-gap measure. Gus does need to find a QB and we need to see what we look like after that. That’s the biggest weight sitting on his shoulders.

He’s got to inject a bit of excitement in the offense. Last 6 FBS opponents at home

these kind of offensive outputs are honestly pretty boring and not conducive to attracting casual fans who want to be entertained by a football game. Outside of UConn who was historically bad, it’s been a while since we have clicked on offense in front of the home crowd. And to make matters worse, the teams we have faced have been poor draws to begin with. So a double whammy.

Very much agree, things need to improve.

If we do lose to GT at home, some of the goodwill towards Gus will be gone - and deservedly so. Can’t talk a big talk and lay eggs on the field.

Scoring under 30 seemed inconceivable for years, scoring over 25 now means the offense is high performing.

This . a lot of fans and some students may start saying ‘Orlando City games are more fun than this’. And UCF is in Orlando where there is a lot to do mid to late fall when the weather gets nice . This isn’t Auburn or Gainesville where there are almost no other options for hundreds of miles

Low scoring by itself can be just fine if both teams are playing well and making plays. Less so when it’s because of ineptitude.

That wasn't the brand Danny White was selling, he was trying to showcase excitement and energy to a young fanbase.

Plus the team is going into a conference that is all about high scoring offense for decades.

Low scoring works if you dominate the trenches. Even joining the B12 isnt going to bring in the top linemen in the country that require it.

Winning takes care of everything. Gus has to win.

All true, but DW isn’t here anymore. The vision may be different.

We have to give Gus some time but the penalties are not justified. That's discipline and coaching. I think T-will has done a good job with what we have. Gus needs to call smart intelligent plays (in my opinion).....having JP throwing in the red zone should be a last resort (unless we're capable). I'm tired of "coach speak" and hype. I would like to see us beat a significant team and play really well against mediocre teams.....which is really just a captain obvious statement :)

+1. If offensive production doesn’t improve vs average AAC teams then UCF has just become another Miami from the last decade . Where we get excited about offseason recruiting with average results once games are played

Wish we could've seen a full season of Gus's offense with DG at the helm. Even if he still transfers after that, we'd have a better idea of what the offense is supposed to look like with an above average experienced NCAA QB.

We lost to UL who lost 7 games last year. Thats why he left. This is the Gus offense.

We scored 36 against Boise, 63 against BCC, and 35 on the road at UL. In the first three games of a new offense.
In Heupels offense it would have been in 40s for the other 2. BCU is probably the same. Just like SCSU this year.

Since 2019 there has been one exciting atmosphere at a UCF home game and that was Boise. And the excitement is dwindling every game. As much as people liked to rag on DG for not winning the big games while here, the offense has slowed to a sputter since he was injured.

For now, we need consistency. We are not FSU, UF, or Miami. We do not have the expectations of winning a big conference every year. With the transition into the new conference, we need stability for at least the first 2-3 years. As much as we want to say we can compete in the BIG12, there is a difference between Tulane/Temple and KState/Kansas. They may have similar records, but they are still bigger and better teams. The competition will be bigger when we start bringing Baylor, TCU, OSU, and WV to Orlando. Some people may not think they are hot stuff but these teams are ahead of ECU, Memphis, Tulsa, and Navy. Its not how great you play 1 game, its how great you play over the season.

Win or lose the fans are very important to the team effort at home. As long as the effort is there is should take more than a few losses to turn off the fan base. Just look at Nebraska. Their fans are gluttons for punishment year in and year out and pack the stadium regardless of their record. Near the end of the season is when we should evaluate the season and the future of the team.

High flying offenses are fun but I would rather win games. I believe a balance between a good offense and a strong defense is the best for winning games. I'm entertained when we win.
In a scenario where we can’t win all the games, the more exciting product is preferable though.
