is it time to fire tik tok Terry

Athletic department seems to be in shambles..

While i'm happy with the frost rehire. It seemed to be a last minute, ditch effort. Every other major sport seems.in shambles. Is Terry in over his head ?
Tik Tok is a bean counter. He’s not very good at what he does but who is going to fire him? UCF leadership at the top is weak.

Mohajir made a crucial mistake at a critical time. Mohajir decided to invest in seats over inverting in a viable football head coach and the resources needed to hire a good staff.

Wins and TV viewership will be more important than ever in the next few years. A program can’t wait 3-4 years in hopes that a rebuild is successful.

Two losing seasons in a row for UCF football…fans and big money boosters are not going to keep the same level of support if the losing continues.

Frost already has a damaged reputation and will have issues attracting talent (players and coaches). Giving Frost almost nothing to hire a viable staff or to give players competitive NIL is a MISTAKE. Not to say that Frost should have been the hire to begin with…he clearly should NOT have been hired a head coach at this point in time.

Here goes the good points: I think he did well with getting Orlando to help with the expense of the new tower. I also think the new baseball coach was a good move. I think bringing Frost back is going to be good as well. It was also great how he got rid of Gus without paying a huge buyout. Now for the areas that need improvement: The softball stadium needs shade and it needs to have more seats. Unfortunately, USF has a nicer softball stadium than we do, and we are in the big 12. Look at the other big 12 softball stadiums on TV. The basketball programs have become disasters. I could write a whole essay on that. By choosing not to do anything, he is actually making a choice. Our basketball teams are now getting lots of publicity about the players who are leaving. I really believe that things can be turned around with our sports programs. I hope that Terry can do this with the new Big 12 money coming in when we get a full share payout. UCF has so much to offer. I just don't want us to end up like USF, UCONN, Oregon State, Washington State or Temple. All of those teams eventually lost their power status/autonomy.

It’s not because of the Big 12 step up either. With our ‘17 and ‘18 teams we would have probably been well over .500 in the B12. QB play is biggest factor. I could see struggling with Freshman QBs for a year and then getting better but we kept getting upperclassmen and they struggled to be consistent or even good.

Basketball is in shambles. Could be worse next year. The whole team went to the portal. UCF will be the training ground every year for the "big money" power 4 teams to fill their roster. Unless we dedicate money to the basketball program, every year we'll be in last place. You'll never see a team like Tacko, BJ, Dawkins, Brown, etc, ever again with NIL. Many of these athletes will make more in college NIL than elsewhere. It will be interesting to see who comes back from the portal to play next year.

Totally BNGAD, All gus had to do last year, was take out the god-awful QB he chose and it would have been a few more wins. If we go .500 this year it will be an improvement.

that is the worry…remaining a consistent dumpster fire so long we end up back in the same neighborhood as USF.

Houston got added to boost basketball, UCF Football. They have lived up to expectations, UCF hasn’t

I disagree. Who is the coach you want fired? They have been given all the resources to succeed. I don’t know of anybody that he hired that is currently out there that should be fired, maybe the women’s basketball coach ( I will admit it I’m not on top of that sport although I do know that the previous coach had success left and took everything with her) but otherwise I don’t know how he is the one who should be responsible for the lack of success on some of the coaches if not all.

I have no Horse in this race other than seeing Ucf succeed. We all knew it was gonna be somewhat difficult when we joined the big 12 and we were gonna have growing pain so I accepted that. Getting rid of Gus with no buyout was great in my opinion Coach Dawkins has a year left on his contract to make it a break it next year. The baseball coach seems to be pretty good and a Ucf alum which is good. The events at the facilities are entertaining, and the facilities have been upgraded. It’s just my opinion, but I don’t see how he’s responsible for any losses when he’s provided the resources that are needed, and I don’t see who I would fire currently, except that stated above. I would hate to start all over again. Continuity is important.JMO n I respect yours my friend

I disagree on the "They have been given all the resources to succeed". This can't be true simply because we don't have enough NIL $$ to get the talent we need to compete. UCF's budgets for sports areas other than football are low. Thoughts?

Louisville, Michigan, St. Johns, Ole Miss, BYU, Colorado St. Kentucky, Arkansas, Texas Tech, Utah State, Mcneese State, Vanderbilt, VCU

Teams that made the NCAA tournament in 2025 with a coach who has been there for 2 or less seasons.
Agree...but how do their basketball NIL budgets compare to UCF's? Also, I do not think Dawkins is the best we can do. We all know WHO he is, hall of famer, NBA, etc but, he's not keeping us in the race so to speak. Sometimes we compete, sometimes we get completely blown out. I'm out of answers for basketball.

I don’t disagree. You’re probably right. But in terms of what we have available to us I think he’s been pretty good with that. It’s just that we’re not fully vested in the big 12 right now and I’ve heard more than one coach state that. I think until we get fully vested it’s hard to lay accusations on anybody. Once we get fully invested, I think it’s a whole different story though. I think you let this thing play out until we are full compensated members and see how it translates on the fields/courts. I just think continuity is underrated.

I would venture to guess at least a third of those schools have similar budgets. Regardless. Teams with lower budgets do have success, they do win games. Maybe not final fours, but certainly not have finishing with a losing record in the conference almost every year.

The argument for Dawkins is always not to have to start all over, yet almost every season he starts all over and fails to build a team. UCF could hire someone at a 1/3 of his salary and likely produce the exact same results if not better.
