I've tried to be a voice of reason through this process so I'll continue....

Scott Frost's record with UCF or Nebraska...depending on where he coaches...

let's start with UCF...this is easy if Frost stays....12-0 (worst case 11-1) and possibly in CFP...important OOC wins at No Carolina and home vs Pitt.....a least one dangerous league game at Memphis

with Nebraska.....5-7 (maybe worse) and no bowl....losses at Michigan, Wisconsin, Oh St and others (you get the picture)....very tough schedule and a beat up squad by end of season....and probably some impatient fans already surfacing

if Frost really wants to coach at Nebraska, he needs to convince them that they need an interim coach in 2018 and try again for Scott after next season....

just being the voice of reason....

Nebraska great competition and UCF would have a worse record then 5-7 with that schedule. SF wont be able to flip Nebraska to success as quick as UCF because BIG10 is a very tough conference. And SF will see 80K each and every weekend at home. Give Nebraska UCF schedule and they go 7-5 and to a bowl?

The BIg 10 is a fraud. OSU, Michigan, MSU, Penn St, Wisc. 2 or 3 of those 5 are slightly better than average. The rest is garbage.

lol. If that’s the case, why do you pound your chest for beating 4-8 Maryland who was on a 3rd strong QB?

Then Iowa also shows up for 2-3 games per year, other than that, most of their conference is as good or worse than the Houston/SMU's of our conference.

Because we have the right when we beat the only big 10 not scared enough to schedule us. Everyone else is batshit scared out of their mind.

sorry but I dont see UCF beating any of those teams listed. UCF not deep enough to compete 4 quarters.
UCF would beat MSU, Wisconsin and give PSU a hell of a run. OSU would be a game depending on which offense shows up (whether their qb decides to throw 5 tds or 5 picks). Michigan we would absolutely murder this year especially.

Chez, who's side are you on? With the squad we have coming back and our recruits, and with Nebraska's schedule, UCF definitely beats all but the 3 I mentioned plus possibly 2 others (at Iowa and Mich St at home)...and with our offense in high gear, I'm thinking only 2 or 3 losses on the schedule....B10 teams don't score 40+ points a game and we would average that... and their OOC schedule is easier.. yep I'm thinking 10-2 (or 9-3 worst case)....and at minimum, the Rose Bowl

Nebraska with our schedule...who the hell cares but probably 6-6 and the Bad Bow Mowers Gasparilla Bowl...

and remember, I'm the voice of reason....

How could a better team have a worse record with the same schedule. We would throttle you guys right now. No offense, but Nebraska is dreadful right now.

It amazes me that such a pitiful team in Nebraska can sit here and make absurd remarks. They can barely beat anybody and then want to talk crap to a clearly superior team. Their fans are clearly the most delusional fans that have ever posted on out boards. Sadly The usf and uf fans atleast can back up their remarks even if we don't like what they have to say.

Yeah we could never beat anyone in the prestigious B1G

Just ask Maryland or Penn St.

EDIT: 91k+

Don't get all the hate.

U realize there are trolls trolling all throughout right?

Nebraska fans just wanted Frost to do well at UCF. Now that we have a coaching vacancy....We want him. He is Nebraska born and bred. Won a National Championship at Nebraska.

Nobody has ill will. Our AD and Frost are choosing to wait till after the playoffs and Let Frost continue a great season....assuming he is coming here...u never know. I would not blame him for staying.

I just popped over here to see what was happening. I think I'll head back out...ha

Best of Luck KNIGHTS! Ya'll are building something special. Will be interesting to watch in the future.

Apples to oranges. Give us their svhedule after we have P5 status and money. We'd clobber them and would compete yearly at the top of any existing conference.

not same schedule....point was if Nebraska plays UCF schedule they would get into a bowl under SF first year.

agree....and thats my point. UCF isnt deep enough yet as a G5 program. P5 have much more depth. When UCF gets into P5 then they will win a NC

All UCF Here......but lets be real. UCF could not sustain a long season in a P5 conference with the teams they have now. First team versus first team all game...sure but not enough depth to cover injuries and fatigue. These P5 play 2-3 deep throughout the game. It is what it is....cant deny that. UCF in P5 then yes stronger recruiting and depth....then look out!

Source?

Most of our skill positions we are extreamly deep. The defensive side of the ball maybe not so much, but the way they been playing lately would it matter who we put in there at db (except Hughes he is just crazy good)

You are 100% correct. Every logical Neb fan knows next year is going to be tough. 5 or 6 wins is going to be considered a success. It is what happens after that, that matters. Hell even year 2 and 3 could be iffy. Nobody is expecting a quick fix. It took 15 years to get to this point and 3 to tank the program. It is going to at least take 3-5 years to dig out.

I have zero doubt that UCF could have beaten both Michigan ST and Michigan this year. Favored? Not sure. Depends on where. Both those games at UCF would have UCF as a pick 'em or very slight favorite.

Look at Michigan St's games aside from PSU. UCF would have done better than they did.

If you're Danny White and Nebraska offered a home and home starting in 2022 for a discount on the buyout do you take it? Hopefully by then Nebraska would actually help your SOS, lol.

OP was not arguing about differences in schedules. Only commenting on likely results for each team where they are now for next year.

The difficulty in getting Nebraska to the top of the Big Ten could take a while, if be done at all. Meanwhile UCF likely to be at or near the top of AAC, admittedly a less strong conference but now the Sun Belt, for a while.

Similarly, there was a ten year stretch and arguably still today, that the SEC was stronger than the Big Ten. Does that mean Big Ten coaches should have swarmed to the SEC. Bielema did. Worked out well for him.

Being in the Big Ten West should make things easier on a successful Nebraska hire. The east will have OSU, PSU, Michigan and Michigan State every year, while the west has Wisconsin and I guess Iowa has good years every now and then.

Get enough Texas athletes let alone Florida or California athletes and Nebraska could maybe compete in the West pretty soon. But regardless, they are more like Arkansas today. And for a while. Good potential but hugely unlikely to be a year in year out conference player.

IF we were in the Big 10 West or SEC East, I think we would be right about where we are. If we were in the Big 10 East or SEC West, we would probably have 2 or 3 losses. But next year we would bring just about everybody back and have a year of P5 recruiting under our belt. If we ever get into a P5 conference look out.

Wow... Not sure if serious? When has this ever been done? Why would Frost let another year of implementing his system go by if he didn't want to be at ucf?
