I'm not going to get into why the 'contempt of court' charge happened, especially since details are sparse. But what I am going to 'address' is this ...

Her lawyers requesting to avoid jail time over 'health issues,' same BS that caused Obama to commute.

As a Libertarian, if Manning and her lawyer - - no matter how much many cleared people, both both parties, despise her - - makes a 'civil rights' case, I'll listen. But when Manning and her lawyer makes this appealing using 'special rights'...

Sorry, not going to make many fans, including not me. And it really is unreal when Progressives listen to that BS, totally smacks of support for 'special rights.'

There are plenty of sick people in jails, let alone dads, moms and other people too, away from their families, loved ones, and... their health is actually terminal. You're not terminal Manning. You can get health services in jail, like everyone else non-terminal.

Seriously... I'm pro-LGBTQ military, and this is continuing to piss me off, this 'special rights' argument, because it undermines all the other LGBTQ servicemen and women (before we even consider the fact that they all didn't commit treason). Don't give into it!

It's the same thing as Christians making excuses for other Christians because... well... they're fellow Christians (especially when those Christians have committed crimes too). Exact same hypocrisy!

I don't recall any 'special rights' issues being involved. Obama commuted her sentence from 35 years to time served plus 100 days, about 7 years total. It was an act of mercy well within established practices and Army regulations.

In this deal, Manning's lawyer expressed concern for her health. That's it. Big deal. If you want to get your panties in a wad over wikileaks sympathizers, you could find some bigger fish in the pond than Manning to throw your contempt at.

If you aren’t a publicly proclaimed libertarian you clearly don’t understand

What about publicly proclaimed Librarians?
They don't exist. No person in their right mind would ever admit to being a librarian. May as well just admit to looking at underage gay asian anime porn.

Whoops. That probably hit a little too close to home.

What is the 'health' issue? That argument is 100% 'special interest.' Can you not see that?

You're reading something into it that isn't there. It's no more a 'special interest' request than what's been said by defense lawyers for Paul Manafort and Bill Cosby.
