Unlike these other posters, however, I will tell you Schmidt is a definitive and diminutive step back. But Gus has been preparing for Matt Lee's departure since last season. UCF should have a decent two-deep rotation on the offensive line, capable of competing in the Big12.
Can you say the same about the Miami offensive line in Year 2 under Cristobal?

Poor Miami. No top 10 finishes since joining the ACC. One good season in recent memory and it was upstaged by UCF going 13-0.

Compared Schmidt and Lee’s size today - I had always heard Lee was undersized and looks like Bula is ~3 inches shorter at 6’1, but both weigh in at 295.

UCF wasn't in position to be picky. It's going be hard to replace Lee more so because of team chemistry and experience, and most likely there will be growing pains. If the OL doesn't gel under the new center, '23 will be a very long year.
