Men's basketball vs Gard Webb

It already seems like we played better last year. granted, I know we are down a few starters.
This team is not in sync yet. Losing BJ does not help. Need to get some scoring from bigs to open up things for the guards and shooters.

DeJesus is good for a freshman. He's going to have to learn on the fly. Helps us for next year and possibly later in year when BJ and Tacko return. AJ rebounding pretty well. Rokus needs to work on hand eye coordination.

FYI Mercer is good. Just beat a team by 30 last night and won by 70 before that.

Just when I thought Laing would only make appearances in blowouts he sees significant time. Good stopgap but not really good enough to be the PG backup.

It is amazing how many games they are leading by 10 with 2 min to go and they can't close the game out.....

Anyone (Including Coach Dawkins) want to talk about last knights horrible free throw shooting? Are we cursed with bad free throw shooting or what!!! #%4&$#7$%#856!

Outside of the fortunate 28 FT's UCF made, which was the difference in the game (to just 10 for GW), here are some of the other highlights from last night's game (with Daniel's radio call)

Shot 70%. That's decent for individual and great for a team. 3 point shooting was terrible. I think 13%.

Key was UCF getting into the bonus both first and 2nd halfs...as most had an ok to good night at the line:

Brown: 8-10 (80%)
Dejesus 4-5 (80%)
McSpadden 6-8 (75%)
AJ: 5-7 (71.4%)
Griffin: 2-3 (66.7%)
Allen: 3-7 (42.9%) Biggest shock as he was 6-6 on Friday night

Without Tacko pulling in defenders down low...nothing was open much on the perimeter since they didn't need to double team anyone by the lane...so UCF shot just 2-15 from downtown which was a killer.

Not sure when the last game was that UCF hit just 2 three pt shots in a game.

A couple were air balled. The flow of offense started off nice but then stalled.
