new point guard for the next season

C.J. Reed will likely start. Calvin Newell (not eligible until December) and Marcus will probably get most of the other time at point. The two freshman guards coming in may get some playing time as well.

we should be better at PG at the start of next year with CJ starting and Marcus as the second option....

and we'll get a lot better with Calvin stepping in during the season.......Calvin may be the best athlete of the three....

of course this assumes that all three will play next season....after this year's musical chair lineups, who knows for sure?

this team's biggest challenges next year to reach the next level (the big dance) will be scoring against tough defenses....we need a couple of shooters (at least 1 lights out) at the 2 and 3....and a couple of guys who can play above the rim...

Isaiah is the only player who has the athleticism to play consistently above the rim but at 6'5" he's overmatched with the big guys....when your 3 is your most athletic "big man" you've got a problem....

here's hoping that Keith realizes he needs to showcase athleticism for the draft and Kasey, Wayne, or one of the recruits can help in these areas but we'll need some shooters and athletic big men to move the program forward significantly and be competitive in the Big East in a couple of years....

and it's an important start to move forward playing (and winning) against CUSA level competition next year....

Hopefully, Taylor Barnette will provide the outside shooting we're looking for.

Even this year was a good sign (UCF went 10-6 in CUSA regular season) as UCF was coming off 3 straight losing conf seasons (7-9 in '09, 6-10 in '10, 6-10 in '11).

UCF won 2 CUSA road games in 2011 and 3 CUSA road games in 2012...so hopefully UCF can go at least 4-4 in conf play on the road next year...because when UCF leaves campus, they seem to play like a different team (not nearly as confident).
