Actually some are claiming this will be around for 2 more years. Eventually almost everyone gets it at least according to that study. So what exactly is the point here? The hospitals aren't overwhelmed. Are you planning on staying inside for 2 years?
Yes.., he’s planning on that and his business being closed as well. We will NEVER BE SAFE UNTIL THERE IS A VACCINE!! You can’t believe those California ER doctors damnit!!

It seems weird that these two guys have been attacked so vigorously but other doctors that are saying the same thing just get ignored.

It's not actually dangerous?

I could have sworn I heard we've lost more people to the coronavirus than we did during the Vietnam War.
The oversimplification is dangerous. I wasn't commenting on the danger of the virus.

The choice isn't between sitting at home or going back to normal. The answer is somewhere in between, we just don't know where and that may change with facts of the situation.
Agree and I've been saying that since the very first days of the outbreak.

The problem is when it's represented as you did in your prior quote. You said that if people stay home, they live. That is not true, people are dying from the effects of staying home, in the short and long terms, and making the false assertion that they live if they stay home is dangerous.

You've got to shake your head and laugh out loud at how predictable the Usual Suspects here are with nonsense like this.

Create a YouTube video, say the "right" things, and -- voila! -- you're magically a better coronavirus expert for our WC crew than Dr. Fauci. :)
If they believe frump, they'll believe anything....ah those redhats!

Exactly. And that 'in-between' has already been laid out by the scientists. Once a state has experienced 14 straight days of declining coronavirus numbers, the threshold has been reached for a safe(r) reopening of businesses.

But few if any of the States have met the guidelines laid out by the Federal government. I'm on record at the time Trump shared these guidelines as saying they were solid plans for reopening. Unfortunately, since then, it's like Trump has amnesia and forgot his own plan.

Can I see this data? "20 years of being in the industry" does not equate peer reviewed studies.
This is the problem with modern America and social media.
What they are saying is that our current half-here/half-there is self-defeating and stupid. I utterly agree with the logic ... it's stupid to leave X open and Y not. It's government utterly screwing with free market in ways that have no justification.

That said, Dr. Fauci is just follow WHO's recommendations, and I don't blame him. That's his job. We should be questioning WHO and Dr. Tedros.

The man slung mud at Taiwan on April 9th, and it sounded like it was straight from the CCP's mouth. On April 10th, they showed all the alleged 'racists' from Taiwan were coming from PRC IP addresses, not Taiwan. So on April 11th, the Taiwan CDC released their full accounting, from when they enacted protocol 124 to statistically showed it was human transmittable by late December to going to Wuhan directly in mid-January and verifying, medically, it was being transmitted by humans, and both China and WHO knew.

Sigh ... it was Dr. Tedros who came into control of who in 2017 with China's blessing that removed 'China Taipei,' and this whole non-sense started. If Dr. Tedros just wouldn't have 'slung mud,' this would all blow over. But now? Oh hell no ... the rest of APAC is pissed.

China has established themselves as the preeminent enemy of the world but even moreso in the region. People are seeing how much they have leveraged their power over the globe and they've had enough.

Yep, and I still cannot believe how many media sheep refuse to look at the facts.

Influenza killed 1,507% more people last year than the entire US war casualties in Afghanistan since 2001.

Push the headline, CNN! Push it!

You wonder what is the real covid death number? 20k maybe? New York definitely fudged the crap out of their numbers.
Its way higher than that. I have no doubt that it will be revised down, but no way the numbers are off by more than 5%. If covid-19 is one of a number of comorbidities then I have no problem with it being listed and reported as such. Now if a person has advanced alzheimers and dies with covid but is asymptomatic, thats a different story.

I read an article on Facebook stating that it looks like, based on Ecuadors numbers that this virus won't slow down this summer. We are just going to have to accept the fact that by the time there is a vaccine, this thing will have run its course and the death toll is just going to be whatever its going to be. Might as well just open things up and let people do their own social distancing. As long as we don't have hospitals being overrun the consequences of the virus are already set in stone. Lets get as much of it out of the way before Flu and hurricane seasons hit.

LOL I'd love to see the reaction on the football board if Heupel used Crazy's "if we can't win 'em all, then screw it" approach to this pandemic.

Since we can't be assured victory, we might as well 'do our own thing' and play out the schedule.

That was a cute analogy, but if ever there was a basic chud analysis to rule them all, this is it.

Seriously, would you rather deal with thousands of people needing hospitalization on top of flu season?
