Not at all. They can still wear their 2 masks and carry hand sanitizer with them. The pandemic is nearing an end, nothing can stop that now.
Nearing the end and being at the end are not the same thing. There is certainly still room for another surge. This is like taking out the starters of a football team because they are up 10 points after the 3rd quarter and thinking the game is over. There is still enough time to blow it.

I dont know how you aren't understanding that they will never let this go unless we stop buying into the panic. The pandemic is over. Find something else to cower in fear over.

Because we all know that by May it will essentially be over, but I can guarantee you that it won't be the end of mask mandates, lockdowns, and panic porn about some new variant. Then, come next fall it will be about masking up because of the flu. This won't end until people stop allowing it to continue and ignore the pseudo science.

So let me try and untangle this. You believe itll be over in May, so that means we should go ahead and declare it over now, even though it is only the first of March, and is still 3 months before the end of May. So basically March and May are interchangeable with regards to this?
Yep. Grandma can shelter in place for the next 2 months. The rest of us can take our chances, and regardless of whether we catch it or not, it'll be over in 2 months. No chance of flooding hospitals, which was never really an actual thing in the first place. If we have to wait until everybody is vaccinated, this will never end and that's exactly what the powers that be want. Get over it and move forward with your life because the end is in sight.
It would be tough to be one of the half-million people who've died of COVID-19. But I'm thinking it would REALLY SUCK for my family and friends to die only days before my vaccine shot 'cause I thought it was over.

In a few months, this is going to be over with. We aren’t going to be wearing masks forever, but some will voluntarily. If you’re over 65, you can and should get vaccinated. If you’re younger, it’s your choice. Just like the flu. In a few months, wearing a mask is a personal choice and a mask mandate is useless.
If you could have received the vaccine and don’t, then it’s all on you. The infection numbers and deaths will be irrelevant. People shouldn’t have to wear masks and stop the spread/deaths of others who choose not to get vaccinated. Oh well. This will definitely be the new Flu

Masks are not going away with the stoppage of a State wide requirement. FL never had one and #s here are not much different than in states that do have one. Most stores have the requirement, and the vast majority of people are wearing them without a state mandate. Fla is and has been mostly open all the way thru this mess, and our death rates have been much better than some of the hard lock down states. Mostly because we unlike Conn and NY protected the most vulnerable.
Some people are going to stop going to stores that require masks. Just wait and see
By the way, you do realize that there’s no a state requirement, right?
That will be their choice to make, Most of the chain stores are not dropping the requirements. We make choices everyday on safety and Mask should be no different. Do I drive or fly on vacation? Do I go jog on a quiet back road where it is more peaceful, but also easier to be mugged out of the sight of others? Do I ride or not ride a motorcycle, and do I wear a helmet if I do ride?

Politicians should stop the shameless pandering and encourage their constituents to 'hang in there' with the mask-wearing and social distancing for a few more months until we've got people pretty much vaccinated.
Which is it? In one breath you point to the infection numbers as 'proof' that masks "clearly aren't working" and in the next breath you point to countless social gatherings where the mask mandates have been ignored.
