Dude. Rudy and his crew had a press conference from the GOP HQ where Sidney Powell mapped out an international conspiracy of sham voting machines. You could do a DNA verification on site and that wouldn't stop a machine from tabulating incorrectly. That would do zero to stop Trump and crew from inventing un-falsifiable election conspiracies.
There only a handful of cases where someone votes for someone else. Are you really ready to sacrifice civil liberties by dumping yourself into facial recognition databases for a little marginal security? To stop like 20 people from illegally voting?
It's more than 20. And I'm a statistic from 2002.
In 2002, I voted second, and I had my vote taken away. It was filed as a 'clerical error,' not 'voter fraud.' The state of Florida marked it as the original vote being made correct, and mine also correct, but would not be counted.
That's what people don't understand. It happens, it does happen more with absentee (and I love absentee, it needs to continue), and even GOP strongholds like Alabama have 96% African-American voter rolls (compared to 91% white), and make absentee quite easy (as I can attest).
The right-wing is going too far. But the left-wing needs to stop saying it's a civil liberties violation to have Voter ID to prevent basic fraud. Voter ID should be any valid state or federal ID with a picture and signature for comparison, and no restrictions.
The problem is the right-wing gets too restrictive.
And the left thinks we don't need any validation at all.
Both are wrong, dead wrong.
