It's pretty much the single biggest political issue of our lifetimes, so not talking about it isn't probably a realistic or desirable goal.

As 2021 comes to a close and the 2022 mid terms become the big focus , I will give the President a pass on this covid stuff. I can't stand mandates because mandates in my opinion are unconstitutional. The SCOTUS will weigh in soon. The reality is this is a virus and while the mRNA therapy kept millions out of the hospital they were never an inoculation. They didn't stop the virus not were designed to do it. It's ridiculous to think we could stop covid any more than we can stop the flu or cold. It's a respiratory virus and we have yet to stop any of them. So, in this regard I don't blame this President or the last one for it or stopping it. I hold them accountable for what they did interns of public policy like lockdowns, shutting small businesses down , giving $600 a week covid bonuses to the unemployed and so forth.
I had covid , put me in the hospital with pneumonia and I don't fear omicron one bit. The data is overwhelming showing us it's a bad cold or mild flu . Before Christmas there was one death in Texas. One. The flu kills more than omicron and we don't freak out over the flu or shut things down. I wish President Biden and Fauci would come out and call off the mandates, stop the rhetoric of demonizing the unvaccinated and tell the American people that we think we are coming out of the dark phase of this pandemic as omicron is the dominate variant with mild symptoms.
I wish they would be truthful and stop the fear mongering. It's time to get back to normal because I predict the next variant will be truly nothing more than a cold . It's how these kinds of viruses behave . They get more transmittable but have less symptoms. Every Corona virus we have observed has taken this path.

Well let's see. Christmas eve I spent with my daughters and family (something you probably know little about). Christmas morning I went and replaced a chemical pump for a boiler that's probably as big as your efficiency apartment and made about a grand, then went and grilled steaks with my brothers for lunch.
