Yes, I know Arizona isn’t a great team and has their own problems, but, in my opinion, this game today is evidence that the problems UCF Football has been having fall squarely on the shoulders of Head Coach, Gus Malzahn. We are talking about a QB today who displayed more talent and poise in his first game than any other QB Gus put on the field this year. We are talking about more effective play calling and a more effective defense today than we have seen in quite awhile. So the rhetorical question, why is that?

Gus Malzone is an obsessive control freak. The man is still running the exact same plays he did over a decade ago…he doesn’t adapt and demands total obedience and loyalty from his coaches and staff.

What you have seen from Gus Malzahn is nothing new…he did the same bs at Auburn until they had enough and gave him $21M to disappear. He’s not going to change…in the off-season he will try to find the next Cam Newton. Wait for it.

Problem is that his EGO will eventually screw up any progress we may make. It’s always hovering around like a black cloud. He already used language post game where he is laying the foundation to return to calling plays if need be. It’s why fans can’t support him. He’s self destructive.

Case in point:

“Refreshing” .. “this week” … “it worked out great TODAY”

Cmon man. Those words scream “I’m just biding my time to show the world that I am the football genius… y’all just wait till next time!”

If Gus doesn’t take a CEO role he has to go. I don’t care if he has input on offense. Every HC has input. Just trust your coordinators and then dictate if you want them to go fast or slow down. That’s it for the most part. Every once in a while he can suggest a play. But Laissez Faire.
I don't think that is possible with Gus. It will be either all Gus or no Gus.

I'm so sick of hearing the Cam talk. He literally ran off DG!

Gus is blind He has been given all the resources to succeed and he continued to run a HS offense that has been figured out Newton has WAY too much influence on this program from recruiting, staff & to scheme

Gus makes poor decisions. That's what took us down to this level. I haven't seen a QB decision as bad as KJ in years!
