Scoop on Jaylon Robinson?

FWIW - I heard Robinson got a 400K NIL deal with Ole Miss. If it's true, you got to be happy for the kid to pick up kind of change and also go to one of the best offenses in the country. If it's true, that's also really really bad sign for UCF. Won't be long till other kids on the team want to monopolize on their value.
We need to sell kids on their long term earnings. I'm all for players getting as much money as possible.

But 400k is nothing compared to the tens of millions they can make in the NFL and through endorsements. Sure make your money now, as long as you're not sacrificing the long term, mega earnings.

Excellent receiver that was wasted in Malzahns scheme.
He had the same YPC average, was on pace for more TDs by a wide margin and had the second best game of his career in Malzahns scheme [laughing]

Sounds like an awful scheme Malzahn had

Tulsa became first team in NCAA history to have a 5,000-yard passer, three 1,000-yard receivers and a 1,000-yard running back in the same season

Nobody in Miami is mad about it. I personally wish him well. Can’t lose what we did not have.

He chose to leave UCF for a reason? For one, he is looking for a better offensive system and to catch balls from a good QB. Look in the mirror boys.
Yall wanted him but nobody wants to play at USF South. Trash fanbase

I think his scheme played out with Keene, Gatewood, Navarro, etc. First 2 games with a veteran QB who set records the year before in passing was a plan of don’t fix what isn’t broken. Similar to with Milton in 2018. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Flash and DG have moved on. I’m guessing there was a reason.
Malzahn's scheme or him just not gelling with the new coaching staff is definitely why Gabriel left, but if Gabriel returns then Jaylon returns as well, I'm 100% confident in that. Malzahn's scheme be damned

Lmfao why would a proven commodity go to Miami in this era?

I don’t think going to Ole Miss for $400 K will change how much he makes in NFL. He’s either good or he won’t be. DK Metcalf makes good money. Doesn’t matter where he went to school and how much anyone gave him in college.

Could he have seen the writing on the wall as the 3rd wide receiver behind O'Keefe and Hudson?

After thinking about it for awhile (not knowing the guy at all), he said he doesn’t want to run the routes in this offense. He went to one that is far easier for him on the outside. Go fast, cross every so often, a couple of digs, and take the rest of the plays off. Hopefully it works out for him. Next man up on our side.

There is players like Jaylon and Gabriel that came specifically to play a type of offense they feel is best suitable for their style of play. They want the Heupel/Lebby style of offense they signed up for. If they were high school recruits they both probably wouldn't go with Malzahn where ever he coached.

Just like Bowser probably doesn't come to UCF if a coach like Frost prefers to use small fast rbs and barely gives carries to a larger back.

With all do respect, Jaylon is no DK, and never will be.

What I'm try to say is, sure go make $400k, but what if it's costing you 10 hours a week of work? Is that worth it, bc that could be time devoted to football or recovery.

Or what if he goes to Ole Miss and is the 2nd or 3rd best guy where as at UCF, his stats would fly off the charts and he would get national recognition. Maybe that affects how NFL scouts view him. Sometimes better to be the big fish in a small pond.

I wasn't referring to his ability, J Flash is an incredible athlete. I was thinking about potential pitfalls.

That's about the only strategy we have left.....if they improve to great, they leave.

Can you kindly give me the scoop on him? Is he a true WR1? He’s visiting Miami Wednesday and Thursday. Apparently, he researched our QB and our offensive staff. He wants a QB that can get him the deep ball and he wants a capable QB2 in case of injury to the starter.

He also says NIL might be a tiebreaker but not the most important thing. It appears that he has been doing a lot of research and likes the fact that TVD is a projected 1st round draft pick.

.... I love it, he's doing "research" , well than he's in the right place because we do "research" here at our university ...welcome aboard ....

The NFL isn’t so much about stats as they are potential and skills. For reference, below is the NFL.com draft profile for Gabriel Davis (the weaknesses that are scheme-related). Tell me that J Flash’s analysis will be any different where he’s going. Then he’s going to have to overcome the 5’9” 180 physical stature as well. Maybe he can develop all the other things that make Tyreek Hill so special.

  • Could struggle to find operating room as a pro
  • Schemed into multiple one-on-one looks downfield
  • Ran limited route tree
  • Takes plays off when he's not primary target

so is he hurt or is he buried on the ole miss depth chart?

looked at the box score and he hasn’t done much at ole miss
