Seriously, a 4 point favorite against ecu?

Thanks for the update….I think a lot of us miss you guys coming over here and participating. Your moderator on this site screwed everyone over. It was quite the turf war in the late 00’s. We need the W here.
Mark Lindsey is the guy you referenced he still covers ECU athletics but his Rival site vanished. Over the last two years we've made some upgrades DFS. The Town Bank Tower was added on the south side and this year we upgraded all the in game video board while adding ribbon boards all around. It's added to the in game experience.

Our defense has been strong against the run better than the pass defense.

Whoever you are, I love you. Thanks for coming over and chatting/sharing. I’m looking forward to a UCF blowout, no offense. I could always be wrong, but I’ve watched a lot of ECU and UCF, I don’t think it’s close. Good luck though. JRP FTW…

Please continue to curb stomp usf, forever and always in perpetuity.

Seeing their stadium the biggest thing that I think we need is an expanded Roth Tower on top of the south club, if not more than the south club. As of now its rather small, and would add premium seats and provide more shade to the west side of the stadium. Would rather than than adding seats way up in the endzone, which are the least desirable location in any stadium.

The good news is the guys will be practicing in the Cooler weather before they head to ECU ...
Did anyone read it this way the first time ... overlooking weather? ;)

Hey, anything helps! @Mikesi would make a great scout team distraction!

At this point we know what were up against with ahlers. He is 36, fat as heupel, but throws good at times. I expect us to take over defensively at some point and gash them with runs
Just saw this quote on an ECU board. They are very protective of Ahlers, which is kind of odd since they have done nothing in the 9 years he has played there, not even a conference championship game appearance. Hail Perriman broke their program. He has been very inconsistent the whole time, and considering our secondary is a clown car of talent all on their own, our biggest challenge may be their running game, including Ahlers.

I really don’t see this game being very close. OL seems to have gotten their act together, that was the main thing holding back this offense. I think the Defense will hold them down, offense will continue to excel. I’m expecting a similar game result to the FAU or SMU scores.

It would be great if just once we scored first. I know my blood pressure would greatly appreciate it.

Here's the history. Holton is a Greenville native born and raised and has been part of the Greenville sports scene for years. He established numerous Greenville Little League records, including most single-season home runs at age 12 and played in the Little League World series. He led his HS football team to play in two state championships in 2016/17 signing with ECU in 2018. He had offers from NC State, Charlotte, Wake Forest and interest from Alabama as a TE. As everyone knows ECU had some leadership issues dating back to 2015 that led our football program into oblivion. Holton chose ECU to help rebuild the program. When Scotty Montgomery was fired 2019 he chose to stay with Coach Houston. This was a total rebuild of the program.

Here is some did you knows?

Holton and his dad Morgan.

So why did I post that picture? Morgan Ahlers has been the in game announcer for both football and men's basketball for over 20 years. Holton was raised a Pirate.

Morgan doing his thing in game.

I don't know if there are any other situations like this in college football at the moment.
Holton got the crap beat out of him for three years during the rebuild and he always got up and came back for more. He's been a terrific ambassador for ECU and Greenville. This is his 5th year and he will walk out of here with both an undergraduate and graduate degree and many AAC passing records.

That's why the fan allegiance.

I always appreciate that kind of loyalty to a team. My cousin who was raised here in Winter Garden ended up in Greenville (along with his wife whom he met there) as chem profs at ECU for many years. They fell in love with the town and the school. Thanks for sharing that.

Someone take this guys money...

ECU +5 vs. UCF

Sign me up for Mike Houston’s team as a home underdog. The Pirates are just 4-3 this season, but this feels like the biggest home game on ECU’s conference schedule. I’m expecting a packed house – 38,000 people saw the Pirates beat Memphis in four overtimes last weekend – and much like SMU, I feel like East Carolina is poised for a season-defining win.

The Pirates whiffed on a home opportunity against N.C. State – losing by a point – but I like them to cover (and win) Saturday.

Pretty awesome story, thanks for sharing!

I hate the old logo UCF over the FL decal on our helmets this week. Looks super generic, was never a fan. Let’s bring the Pegasus out.

Today begins the “difficult” part of the season. We started with 5/6 home games and 6/6 games in the state. We finish with 4/6 road games. All 6 games are winnable, but all 6 are also loseable (even USF, as we nearly saw last year due to the rivalry aspect). Can we finally overcome the road woes? Today’s game won’t be easy, and neither will road games against Memphis and Tulane. And then home against Cinci, and also home against Navy (can we overcome the triple option this year?).

If UCF wins the toss elect to receive. Gives the defense time to show up.
Maybe. It is odd that we have actually been outscored in the first quarter 38-34 against FBS opponents. Definitely would be nice to get off to faster starts.
