Shit is going down in Syria

On a better note, I read that our small Marine artillery battalion in Syria fired 35,000 155mm rounds in less than 5 months last year, effectively paving the way to decimate ISIS in and around Raqqa.

This is something the deranged Trump haters will never admit- he really did bring about the fall of ISIS. He gave Mattis complete command authority to do what's necessary to eradicate them, and we pounded the shit out of them while the Kurds fought on the ground.
trump derangement syndrome is very real.

its how you get msm to report kim's sister as "stealing the show" posts and crap like that

The whole Porter situation caused me to completely lose any and all consideration that the US media is remotely truthful. I knew they weren't trustworthy, but now they just aren't truthful at all. And Democratic politicians who know better are taking advantage of that.

The FBI didn't contradict the White House at all. The FBI doesn't do security investigations, just background checks. The FBI doesn't answer for the OPM, it's a completely different branch of government, and OPM was still completing his SSBI.

OPM has major issues with its NBIB is pretty much disfunctional these days. It takes multiple years to complete an SSBI, and even those with priority are taking 9+ months.

The whole reason the White House didn't know about the spousal abuse was because the Executive is not allowed to access confidential information in FBI background investigations, per the abuse back in the Clinton administration (using FBI files against enemies).

Putin declared "victory" against ISIS on 11 Dec last year, and since then has been using more military contractors, who where the ones that got wiped out by US in the eastern portion of the country. Not as bad as Russian soldiers, but still not good. Combined with Israel losing a viper, it's getting pretty interesting.

Yep. We'll see if the backchannels work.

But even if the US and Russia keep it from spiraling, just like Nixon did in Vietnam, there's still the Israeli question.

I, for one, am wondering what will happen with the Saudis. Saudia Arabia, for the first time in its history, is now openly countering Iranian influences. But if Israel is now directly countering Iran too, that may bode poorly for Saudi support in the Arab world.

Nope- it won't. I am actually going to Riyadh in 2 weeks.

The worst kept secret in the Sunni Arab world is that they are quite happy with Israel applying pressure on Iran. For the time being, the Shia are a bigger threat than the Jews. I know for a fact that Saudi secretly buys Israeli defense items, they just do it discretely. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some level of anti-Iran intelligence sharing going on.

Iran has basically built a land bridge from Tehran to Beirut and their control exists every inch of mile. This is much more concerning to Sunni Arabs than Israel.

Yes, they are happy, but the question is ...

Will Iran be able to turn the Israeli involvement into something bigger for the Arab world?

Frankly, I am still dumbfounded on the Syrian-Iranian alliance. It seems to be more anti-Israeli than Sunni v. Shia.

Assad is again using chemical weapons on children.

Time for Trump to authorize another missile barrage . And I’m serious.

Russia just sent two 5th generation Su-57's to Syria. And everyone is bombing the shit out of Damascus. This is crazy.

The Su-57 prototypes are likely deployed to get good RCS on the USAF F-22s. That's what I'd do if I was Putin, especially with the Su-57 fire control and other integration still in development, but their AESA radars are operational.

In reverse, the Su-57 prototypes aren't the final configuration and paint. So the F-22s using their AESA radars to paint the Su-57 will be far less useful.
