Will one of you guys please file an open records request with the UCF athletic department for updated copies of contracts for Ted Roof, Tim Harris Jr., Darin Hinshaw, Addison Williams, and Trovon Reed.

Gus had to get very creative to stay within UCF's salary budget while bringing in all these experienced personalities at the same time.

Grant Heard made $425k; David Gibbs, $475k; Darin Hinshaw, $600k; Addison Williams, $700k; and Ernie Sims, $250k in 2023. Heard's and Sims' contracts had to be bought out. Gibbs' was nonrenewed.

I am really curious to find out how Gus made the numbers work and how the Knights salary pool stacks up with the rest of the Big 12 in Year 2.

Fair market value for Roof alone is in the 800k-$1 million range, which Gus may have mitigated for 2024 since Oklahoma owed Roof an additional $1.2 million for the final year on his contract. Tim Harris Jr. return warrants a $750k+ contract.

Hey. If only it were that easy. UCFAA is a private entity and is not subject to open records requests. The Orlando Sentinel has requested contracts and has been stymied. TT

Gus has a budget for staffing. He has to stay within his budget. He is very creative with money. He gets the most out of every penny.
