Yep. For some reason they don't understand that at some point they need evidence to support their claims. This is precisely why so many fall into the conspiracy camps, because they simply believe anything they "want" to be true has validity, even if there is no evidence to support it.
I find it illuminating that Knighttime laughs at the people who were initially taken in by the Jussie Smollett story while (apparently) being oblivious to how he, himself is doing the exact, same thing by continuing to believe in Trump's equally preposterous story.

In the case of Smollett, once people asked for his evidence, his story quickly fell apart -- and his early supporters vanished. But in the case of Trump, his inability to provide ANY tangible evidence hasn't dissuaded his staunch supporters from continuing to believe his equally crazyass story.

Laugh at that one, Knighttime! :)

How did the MSM 'set the narrative' for Trump's claim that he won last November's election in a landslide and had his win stolen from him?
uh, Happy? His claims WERE without evidence!!!
So there are NO Republican investigative journalists in this country? Not a single right-leaning journalist who would have saw this as their 'Woodward and Bernstein' moment and uncovered all this massive voter fraud??!?

Despite 60-plus court cases, recounts, audits, reviews, and Trump's own cybersecurity Director's assertions that this was the most 'secure election in American history,' you guys believe that all these Republican-led states were 'in cahoots' with the Biden team?

You'd think we have more than enough challenges to face as a nation without manufacturing make-believe aggrievements.
You don’t seem to be following what I clearly said already.

I don’t believe that there’s evidence of the election being stolen from Trump. If there was we’d be seeing it by now.

What I said, and you seem to be missing, is that the usual suspects in the media didn’t help the situation. They wrote off the claims without waiting for any evidence to be shown, and people who wanted to believe Trump noticed that and instead of seeing the media give him an opportunity to make his case they saw the media scoff and dismiss it outright.

A claim was made and neither side waited for evidence, they just both believed what they wanted to believe about the claim. The left wing media immediately reported it was hogwash, and the right wing media breathlessly kept saying it was coming any day now.

BOTH APPROACHES ARE TERRIBLE.

Great, welcome back to Common sense land

Since you yourself admit that if there was some, we’d have seen it by now, what’s your point?

Seems to me that the right wing media, people like you, Republican Congressmen, and the courts waited patiently for weeks and weeks and weeks for the evidence.

As I recall, the same expectation of proof was expected from that leftie, Jussie Smollett. Using your logic, Jussie’s real problem was that the MSM was so quick to dismiss the poor guy’s claims out-of-hand before he could gather together his compelling evidence. This evidence providing business is clearly biased against people like Donald and Jussie who have none.

then end with this
I just read that thread and laid out facts throughout. Pointing out facts isnt crying about anything.
you're so close to understanding

Maybe we need an investigation into Biden's comments that he created the biggest fraud campaign in history. Strange words to accidentally speak when there was at least some election fraud.
I wonder how many would acknowledge that Pelosi would’ve impeached Trump within a week if he’d have been the one to utter those words.

Noooooo.

No proof was needed from Jussie Smollett before the media ran with an absurd story that white guys in maga hats attacked him in downtown Chicago at 2 AM in -10 degree weather while he was walking back from a Subway. They were breathless in talking about how horrible it was, how much proof it was that Trump was emboldening white supremacists, and on and on.

If you need a reminder, there’s a story on npr.org about how the Smollett story was covered in the media with this quote:

GREENE: So you're saying this is a moment for soul-searching for some journalists?

SANDERS: A lot of us (laughter), yeah, a lot of us. I think that in the coverage of this story, some of the basic tenets of journalism, David, were just abandoned. A lot of newsrooms failed to use words like alleged when talking about this story. And, you know, journo (ph) 101 says until you know for a fact the crime has happened or there's a conviction, you have to say alleged perpetrator and alleged victim. Also, a lot of newsrooms took what Jussie's lawyers were saying or what Chicago PD was saying at total face value, and they just weren't skeptical enough all around, in part because there was this rush to take a side, stay there, because it feels like news consumers want that.”

You’re making my point for me by bringing up Jussie. The media ran with Jussie’s allegation without proof while INSTANTLY dismissing Trump’s. The problem isn’t being wrong. The problem is making a determination before they could possibly know. They’re choosing sides based on what they want to believe is true.

Shuckster doesn’t need to be reminded. He was in here railing about Jussie the poor victim from the start until long after his duplicity was revealed. Hell, I’m sure that he’d still try to make the case that it was Trumps fault today.

You've GOT to be kidding me!!! You WANT to go down this road??!?

Jussie Smollett's absurd story lasted all of 24 hours before everybody realized how stupid it was. Donald Trump's absurd story is still going for crying out loud!!! A "landslide" victory was "stolen" in a country he lost by six states and seven million votes! Just goes to show: 1) how gullible some people are; and 2) that Donald is a far better con man than Jussie.

To be fair, shuckster didn't comment on the Smollet thing until it was proven to be a hoax

24 hours? It went on for at least a week before the media started to question the story. Even then, a lot of people still believed it.

I'm not saying ol' Jussie didn't continue to have his believers, but most people were scratching their heads and going 'WTF?' pretty damn quickly. A little aside: Dave Chappelle has one of The Funniest Routines I've ever heard on the Jussie Smollett story. Truly, 'laugh out loud' stuff. It's a youtube video if you haven't seen it.

But I find it kind of weird to quibble about how long the Smollett story was believed when we're comparing it to the equally-unbelievable story that some supporters of Donald Trump are STILL buying!

You're only defensive because you know it's true. Did you ever for a second ask yourself whether the voter role thing in Detroit might have some validity?

I looked at a bunch of the voter stuff and nothing was compelling to the extent necessary to argue something nefarious that effected the outcome.

Look at 2016 Detroit vs 2020 Detroit. Trump IMPROVED his performance and turnout lagged the rest of the state. If something nefarious happened in Detroit than it also happened in 2016 except they did a worse job in 2020. The margins for victory were small shifts statewide in just about every county.

Happy to dig into whatever source you have that suggests otherwise.

Almost all of it has been disproven at this point, but there was a time we didn't have any compelling evidence against them. The voter role thing is a good example of that, and it took a couple of weeks before it was explained.

The MSM is bad because they called Trump out on his massive voter fraud BS early on instead of waiting patiently for...evidence that never materialized. Is that your beef?

No, my beef is that people dismissed it all out of hand. It happened here all the time when I would post a story about one thing or another and would get slammed for it immediately. I didn't even make the claim that it was true, just odd.

There are still several anomalies that have yet to be explained, like in Nevada where a bunch of registrations came from empty lots. To my knowledge there are still state investigations going on in Arizona, Georgia, and Nevada so it's not like all of the claims were devoid of merit.

YOU have to be kidding. I posted a quote from an npr article about how irresponsibly it was covered and you’re still pretending the media quickly became suspicious and didn’t buy it. What a clown.

See for yourself.

The conclusion of that article is exactly what I’ve been saying. Sometimes they don’t know, but they don’t seem comfortable saying that so they constantly editorialize, speculate, and tell you what to think rather than simply what the facts are.

Weird how that happens with UFO alien proponents, Flat Earthers, Antivaxxers, JFK assassination conspiracy Believers, and Trumpets claiming massive voter fraud that stole a national election.

Interesting that you include alien UFOs considering everything that has come out in the last couple of years.
