The thing that really gets me about the 0-3 start . . .

And changes are not always good ... especially when you're already established as the #2 G5 program. This is hardly the first time we've been really bad under GoL.

...and thats the point we shouldnt be bad again if his intent is to elevate our program to a P5 conference. Look i can agree with your assessment if were at the "big boys" table. Now isnt a good time.

Change is not always good? How much worse can we be...a possible 0-12 season and a potential 16 game losing streak in our future. Dump the coach and bring in someone new and sure we start off slow but by delaying the inevitable - keeping coach GOL - we not only experience a slow start up with a new coach but a continuous low with the current one.

GOL's secret strategy...let's go 0-4 and look so bad that the fan base
accepts any positive movement forward as a major victory.

The good news is if you look at the roster we see there's still talent there
to win any of our conference games (our conference isn't that good despite
what some trolls from other teams might say).

And, we can play the spoiler any week of the AAC conference schedule if
coaches and players get it together sporadically.

The reason I'll tolerate 12-15 losses is if we have a winning season next year. And I expect a divisional title at a minimum.

If not, it means the GoL program has failed.
After the FIU game you still expected us to have a winning season. Way to keep lowering the bar.
And removing GOL from AD needs to happen today. I think we can all agree on that.

Huh? WTF?!

I know you guys love to put words into my mouth, but I expected a bit of actual comprehension. But, alas, that's what you guys do. You don't actually read what I say, you tell me what you want me to say.

I said it was still possible to have a winning season. I said I would wait and see on the results. I also even said if we lose to Furman, we likely were not going to have a winning season, and that would turn even more people against GoL.

But I also said one year doesn't make a career. I've been steadfast on that. I've also been steadfast on being the 3rd youngest roster, and even questioning if we were just "reloading." With the injuries, I was the first to say we're probably "rebuilding" ... especially once the Freshman QBs were thrown to the fire.

Go back and re-read my posts during the Stanford game, when it was actually on-going. Actually take issue with what I say, not what you wish I said.

That's Hitt's call as far as I'm concerned. You guys make him out to be a GoL cronnie, but Hitt's actually just very calculating.

You know, I was thinking the same thing. We should hopefully have a few guys back next year from injury and everyone gains one year of experience. Plus next year we lose about 4 starting seniors (2 on offense and 2 on defense). We could potentially return 10 starters on each side of the ball. I know this season isn't over but I can't help but think how much we have back next year.

It sucks to dip this badly but the reality is, we are extremely young, have a few injuries dating back to the spring that cost some players the entire year, and even lost a couple guys early to the NFL.

People just need to grow up. We are not going to experience a crazy USF downfall. I really think we'll get things going this year and bounce back strong next year.

Hopefully we can get Akins back. I heard that his knee injury is more than just an ACL. Sounds really bad. Sucks.

Yeah. He's done for this year, possibly more.

In any case ... speculation is rampant. I would strongly argue I haven't speculated one bit. I only said I wouldn't change the program until it looks like we're going to have back-to-back losing seasons. I challenge anyone and everyone to go back through all my posts and tell me where I departed from that. I'm sorry to those who think I've been saying various things they wish I would have, now that we lost to Furman.

In fact, after Furman I was immediately comparing our season a bit to 1995, not just 2004, while still hoping we pull out a 2008 ... or better. Here at my client in Alabama, I've just been saying, "We're likely going to have our worst season in 20 years." I'm still hoping for better, but I cannot speculate we will.

Oh, BTW ... and I've been holding this back.
Every single person I work with here in Alabama thinks you're all nuts for wanting to fire GoL.

That is because they compare us to Southern Miss. The co-workers in my office say otherwise. GOL needs to go.
