DEBATE NEGOTIATIONS: BIDEN WANTED BREAKS EVERY HALF HOUR, WHICH WAS DENIED BY TRUMP
by Kevin Ryan
Details are emerging about the negotiations between the Trump and Biden campaigns over tonight’s presidential debate:
• The Biden campaign requested breaks every thirty minutes, which was denied by the Trump team. The debate is scheduled for 90 minutes, without any commercial breaks.
• The Trump campaign wanted the Biden campaign to allow a third party to inspect the ears of the debaters for electronic devices or transmitters. The President consented to this inspection, but so far, Biden has not. Another source says Biden originally agreed to the inspection, but then backed out.
That according to the New York Post’s Washington correspondent Ebony Bowden, and Fox News’s producer covering the election Pat Ward.
Tonight’s debate is set for 9pm Eastern time at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Fox News’ Chris Wallace will be the moderator. Wallace and Trump have an adversarial history, with Trump accusing him of asking unfair questions during interviews in the past.
The debate will have six topics, 15 minutes each: “The Trump and Biden Records,” “The Supreme Court,” “Covid-19,” “The Economy,” “Race and Violence in our Cities” and “The Integrity of the Election.” There will be no opening statements.
The candidates will have two minutes to respond after Chris Wallace opens each segment with a question. Wallace will then use the rest of the time in the segment to facilitate further discussion on the topic.
