Thursday night: Houston at Cinci

The only game that matters tonight is the one where Brandon Marshall is going to run all over the Bills defense on his way to a W.

What a great game! Cincy took the lead in the 4th quarter by picking off Ward in the end zone, a long sideline pass, a double reverse flea flicker leading to a go ahead TD. Houston then picked off Cincy three times in that final quarter, the last two on successive pick sixes. Wow! Nobody can say the AAC doesn't play great football.

Houston looked pretty beastly against the run tonight. They are talented and deep defensively.

Sure we can. The AAC doesn't play great football. Houston might, but that's about it. UH is a great example of what UCF could have been if we didn't waste our time with the GOL era. What a waste that guy was.

Word.

Houston's recruits are an average thirtysomething miles from campus. They know the talent sitting in their own backyard. Hoping, based on what Frost has said, this will be our process going forward.

everyone talks about Ward and that offense but Herman has recruited some serious Talent on Defense. That one DL that was wreaking havok most of the 4th quarter was a 5 star

I know, what a shame it was to win all those conference titles and the Fiesta Bowl.

That being said, the AAC plays entertaining football, not "great" football. If the cards weren't stacked against the conference, the AAC would have great potential to grow into something. Unfortunately, the lack of P5 status means no school loyalty, which means no long term commitment as we all want a bid at the big table with more money.

The AAC will get poached once again. I still think it'll be the most entertaining of the Group of 5, but if Houston, Cinci, or UCONN leave, well, it's definitely a big loss. Of course, none of those schools will save the B12 from inevitable collapse once Texas and Oklahoma leave.

So it's comforting to know that in the next 10 or so years we'll be in a pretty solid conference with former B12 leftovers.

He's only been there for one season. Almost all of his recruits are true freshman. That defense is a result of the recruiting that happened before he got there AND the coaching his staff has given them.

Houston's win over Cinci didn't move them up the polls any. Maybe since the game was on Thursday the voters forgot. However, Louisville leap frogged them to #3. if both teams win out it sets up this huge game for a playoff spot:

Nov 17th Louisville at Houston

Houston beat Cinci, Lousiville beat the #3 team in the nation. That's why they leapfrogged them.

The way it looks right now, that game will be another massacre.

The American has six wins against the P5 this season. Thats not all Houston either. Thats UConn, South Florida, Cincy, ECU and Memphis. it may not be nine like last year, but Houston won't be beating up on all conference teams that lost their ooc games either.
