Clearly you know better than one of the most prosperous Muslim Majority nations in the world!
According to the article, it was comments from a single person, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

LOL!!

This is a tiny country where the ruling Sheikh has absolute rule. But hey, I'm sure his top diplomat if off spouting opinions that the state doesn't carry.

You're too much dude. It's sad.

Oh, so you added a second person to the equation. Much better.

The Arab League is the typical Middle eastern bunfight, with Arab versus Arab and no ability to agree on anything other than what colour teacups to have at the next Cairo conference.

Let's ban the UAE and see what he says

There is no war there. It's a stable country where westerners can work without fear of being killed. They can even have a beer in hotels without zealots cutting their heads off.

I bet you don't know that, despite being a Middle East expert.

I'm going to Abu Dhabi in a few weeeks and staying at the new Four Seasons. I wonder if they have a property in Syria left standing?*

This. He has every reason to be supportive and really no reason to be against it. I don't have an issue with Trump's Immigration EO, but this guys statement is not a vindication of the criticism.

Bullshit.

This has been framed desperately as a MUSLIM BAN! Yet here we have the second most influential Sunni Muslim nation in the world saying "we are fine with it". The Sheikhs of the Emotiates are the most closely aligned rulers to the Saudi Family who is the protectorate of Mecca and Medina.

If what liberals said is true, that this is a MUSLIM BAN! And we are offending the entire Muslim world, then this guy would have been the first to outrage. Yet he supports it.

Hey dumbass, Trump is the one who called it a Muslim ban. So that's what it's being called. The left didn't frame anything.

I see your point. A Muslim coming out in defense is a positive for Trump. My point is that the this guy (and the UAE) have no reason to object even if it was a "Muslim ban". They benefit at the expense of the other countries in the area. He's not an unbiased observer.

So basically, you're admitting what I already know- that this EO is based upon regional security and political interests rather than an ideological attack on Muslims.

I agree it's an EO based upon regional security and political interests. I just don't think a spokesman from the UAE, even though he's Muslim, refutes the criticism. He (and his country) benefits from the EO and has reason to keep it alive.

Yeah but you don't drink the camel semen ipa while wearing clown makeup so your opinion isn't relevant *

Um, an actual prominent Muslim from one of the most influential Muslim nations in the world carries infinite more weight than a bunch of white SJWs in the US who think religion is an iPad and a latte.

...and this is why you are a very poor debater. You don't even realize when you're putting up a shitstain of an argument. A guy who sells arms to middle eastern despots is trying to tell us how we need to protect ourselves from Muslims. Classic.

UAE has already had their oil revenues depleted in recent years. This guy will support any U.S. policy as long as it keeps oil revenue flowing into the coffers of their wealthy elite.

That is the funniest post I've seen on these boards in some time, chemmie telling someone they are a poor debater.

It doesn't matter what influence he has; if there's a conflict of interest, you have to question his motives. UAE imports $23 Billion from the US annually while only exporting $3 Billion. They don't want to piss us off and jeopardize the relationship. If this was someone from say Egypt, where the economic reliance isn't as great, I'd see it as a better argument.

Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Libya, Algeria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Those countries do not allow Jews in, tell me chemmie where is your outrage?

So you want America, "Land of the Free," to emulate third-world (mostly) religious theocracies for our immigration policies now? Maybe we should have banned immigrating Jews back in 1933, then maybe we wouldn't be dealing with your racist ass around here.

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free...unless they are Muslim or Mexican."

Show me proof where Trump called this EO a Muslim Ban.
He stated he was going to implement a Muslim ban years ago as soon as he was in office. Did he modify it yes. Now he bans Muslims from certain countries. He isn't banning people from all the countries of the world with instability.

He banned all people from certain countries. Keep up the propaganda though. It's worked so well for you all in elections the last six years.

Accepting immigrants does not mean an open border free for all. We are still the most prosperous nation and our bottom 10% make more than most of the world. You can't be the most desirable location and have unfettered access. It just won't work in the medium-long term. Revamping immigration is not a racist or xenophobic thing to do, it's a necessity for long term economic success of our existing lower class.

Chemmie hates the lower class.

Wrong. He hates the upper class. It's all about fairness.

He hates them both. He wants to open the borders and flood the country with low skill workers that will create new competition for the struggling lower class. He wants the upper class to pay for them all.

I'd really like to see an experiment where they auction off Visas to employers. Have a low skill labor pool and a high skill labor pool with the employers bidding for the opportunity to hire the immigrants. It guarantees immigrants get in demand jobs that are not filled with domestic applicants. Structure it with a term, say 3 years, and if the immigrant retains a job and does not get into trouble they get a direct and easy route to citizenship. Of course there's still the political jockeying of how many Visas to put up for auction in each category but it could work.

Minor add...

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on.
He's calling for a complete shutdown of immigration from 7 countries which amounts to about 12% of the world's Muslims. That is very different than your statement.
