So let me see if I have this straight: Trump threatens Mexico with a tariff and all of a sudden their president mysteriously comes up with 10,000 troops out of her back pocket to guard the southern border? When they refused to do that for the last four years? Am I understanding this correctly?

Or even better:

"We have absolutely no troops or resources to spare!!!”

"Fine here’s a 25% tariff."

“OK you can have 10,000."

Sweet!!! 25% tariff it is!
Nah. That’s all for show. But the proof will be in the pudding if border crossings actually slow. But for now Trump can claim a great victory in getting Mexico to allocate the same number of troops to the border that they had already allocated under Biden.

Of course it’s all for show. It’s nothing more than
his negotiating tactic.

Yep. He basically got what had been negotiated months ago, but he is a brilliant negotiator or something. I think Canada did agree to a fetanyl czar for the .2% of our fetanyl that enters from Canada, so that's something I suppose.
