Seasons over. They can transfer now. Anyone that doesn’t want to enlist after graduation needs to leave soon. I think once you start senior year you have to go to boot camp after and serve for 4 years. Most of them aren’t good enough to play in nfl and probably want to go active anyway. That’s why they are there. The kids at Army and Navy can't just quit the team mid season like the kids at the other schools can. The new NIL and easy transfer rules are helping Army and hurting UCF.
Interesting! These run play first guys are great lineman!Last year’s class at Army had one 3 star player. The rest were either 2 star or No star players. The service academies recruit with one arm tied behind their backs due to high admission standards and a looming 5 year service commitment which scares top players away.
They don’t redshirt any players allowing OL/DL men an extra year to gain 20-30 lbs of muscle or benefit from the transfer portal. If anything, they lose players transferring regularly because of the rigors at the academies. They have to identify underrated talent and develop them. Despite these limitations, they compete and at times beat storied programs. I would love to see what Monken could have done at UCF.
Good point. Gus' offense needed run blocking badly. Frost will need both types, IMHOHaven't seen a game but there can be a difference between run blocking and pass, for example, in the NFL Justin McCray was many times ranked highest on his team in run blocking and lowest in pass.
