Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.
After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

Overall Offensive Player Grades
The star of the game was Otis Anderson and that was reflected in his PFF grade. Anderson, who had a big day both on the rushing and receiving end, scored an elite grade of 91.8 for his performance at Tulane. He scored a on a pivotal 44-yard run and also caught three passes for 72 yards, one of which went for 58 yards.
The second and third best performers were Dillon Gabriel (79.6) and Marlon Williams (79.0). DG's stats don't jump out at you, but that's because he had numerous drops. If those balls were caught, UCF likely scores 2-3 more touchdowns. Marlon was UCFs leading receiver with a career day - nine catches for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Drops are indeed grade killers - it's like having a zero factor into your final grade. Gabriel Davis, Jacob Harris, AK and Greg McCrae each had two drops. It's hard to have a perfect game with zero drops across all receivers, but that's eight balls that should have been caught. No other WR had a drop.
