Rivals has continued its partnership with Pro Football Focus (PFF) which grants me access to their comprehensive analytics and statistical tools.

After each game, two separate analysts grade every player on each play of the game and the two totals are averaged out. Obviously no subjective ranking system is perfect, but I am finding that my real world impressions of a player in a certain game usually reflects the PFF grade.

Unfortunately, this update will be a bit different than previous postings. I have been informed that PFF does not allow distribution of screenshots, which is what I had been doing to convey the full picture. I can editorialize the information I have access to, but no longer can I straight-up copy.

Overall Offensive Grades

QB Dillon Gabriel had been the most consistent offensive player, earning the top overall grade in three of the first four games. However, this week's top spot goes to WR Gabriel Davis, who earned an 84.2 PFF grade.

Top 12 Offensive Players by Grade:

WR Gabriel Davis - 84.2
RB Bentavious Thompson - 82.8
WR Ryan O'Keefe - 81.5
RB Trilion Coles - 80.0
RB Greg McCrae - 79.5
WR Marlon Williams - 77.1
WR Jacob Harris - 76.1
TE Jake Hescock - 74.5
QB Dillon Gabriel - 72.3
OL Jordan Johnson - 72.3
OL Trevor Elbert - 71.7
RB Otis Anderson - 70.0

These are all the players that graded at 70.0 (good) or above. FWIW, grades in the 60-69 range are average to above average, while 59 and below constitute below average (50s) to bad (40s and below).

Bottom 10 Offensive Players by Grade:

OL Samuel Jackson - 42.9
WR Jarrad Baker - 48.3
OL Cole Schneider - 53.0
WR Tre Nixon - 53.5
WR Ke'von Ahmad - 53.6
QB Darriel Mack Jr. - 53.8
OL Lamarius Benson - 54.1
WR Amari Johnson - 54.2
OL Edward Collins - 58.1
OL Parker Boudreaux - 58.3

Three of UCF's OL starters earned among the worst grades. Darriel Mack didn't win over PFF analysts, either.

Offensive Line Grades

Grades here are based on pass blocking. Grades are probably a bit skewed with higher grades for the backups because they didn't have as many pass blocking opportunities as the starters.

Top 5 OL:

Lokahi Pauole - 81.8
Lamarius Benson - 81.8
Edward Collins - 80.0
Cole Schneider - 79.4
Jordan Johnson - 78.9

The only OL who received a poor pass blocking grade was Samuel Jackson (22.2).

Cole Schneider's run-blocking grade (56.9) dragged down his overall offensive grade because his pass blocking grade was good.

Here's how the rotation worked (snaps in parentheses).

Left Tackle

Tony Gray (41) - 67.5
Edward Collins (19) - 80.0
Samuel Jackson (10) - 22.2

Left Guard

Lamarius Benson (39) - 81.8
Cole Schneider (22) - 79.4
Samuel Jackson (8) - 22.2
Chidoziri Maghiro (1) - 60.0

Center

Matthew Lee (39) - 59.8
Jordan Johnson (30) - 78.9
Kyle Back (1) - 60.0

Right Guard

Lokahi Pauole (40) - 81.8
Parker Boudreaux (24) - 78.0
Samuel Jackson (6) 22.2

Right Tackle

Jake Brown (30) - 77.9
Trevor Elbert (21) - 77.6
Brett Bell (18) - 77.9
James Collins (1) - 60.0

Quarterback Grades

Dillon Gabriel - 72.3 (overall)
Darriel Mack Jr. - 53.8 (overall)

Unlike the past couple games, Dillon didn't throw many deep balls. He had only one pass that was more than 20 yards from the line of scrimmage, which was over the middle and completed for a touchdown (Gabe Davis, 73-yarder). The bulk of his passes were actually 0-10 yards from LOS (5 of 8) and then 10-20 yards (4 of 6).

Mack's best passing grades in regards to area of field were throws 10-20 yards from LOS in the center of the field (1 of 2 for 13 yards, 83.6 grade). He threw a total of three deep balls, completing zero.

Rushing Grades

Bentavious Thompson - 79.2
Trilion Coles - 78.8
Greg McCrae - 75.3
Adrian Killins Jr. - 64.0
Otis Anderson - 56.2

Wide Receiver Grades

Gabriel Davis - 82.3
Ryan O'Keefe - 80.2
Marlon Williams - 75.5
Jacob Harris - 73.8
Otis Anderson - 72.8
Greg McCrae - 67.8
Bentavious Thompson - 64.9
Alex Harris - 64.2
Amari Johnson - 53.5
Tre Nixon - 53.5
Jarrad Baker - 48.1

Tre Nixon was only targeted twice, catching one pass. Not sure what happened, but he seems to be heavily penalized for something.

Jarrad Baker was targeted three times with one catch. One of those was a non-call pass interference.
