UCF quarterback Dylan Rizk intends to enter transfer portal

Wow! I feel for the kid. He was treated horribly by Gus the Bust and now it looks like he doesn't have a chance as QB 1. I really hate to see him go. Rizk seemed to always give everything he had. I wish him only success.

He’s not a P4 QB.

I liked him. I thought he was the best QB we put on the field last year. I think he had lots of potential. I thought he at least deserved a shot at starting. But, if Frost and Milton saw something different in practice, then I can understand. I hope he gets a good deal like Mikey did with Michigan. He will do well on another team. With a good coaching staff he could excel. It would be hard to succeed under Gus. He was seeking a QB like Newton, but not finding him.

At least our offense will now be less rizky....

I think Brown also leaves, so need to hit the portal

Had one great game sneaking up on a bad team, wasn't good otherwise. Really just shows again how bad the previous staff was evaluating and coaching the most important position on the field...glad the gus bus went over the cliff

They gotta pick up another qb in the portal I think.

Rizk did win that Space Game for us last year. Legendary performance.

"Making his first career start, quarterback Dylan Rizk was ready for his moment and wowed Knight Nation throughout the game. He threw for a career-high 294 yards on 20-of-25 passing with three touchdowns. Additionally, he made some plays with his legs to pick up 55 yards rushing, highlighted by a career-long 33-yard scamper."

DJ Mack part two maybe....

I totally agree. Frost probably told him he won't be starting.....or the NIL $$ isn't enough. All the players have agents now. But the decision not to start him must have been collaborated within the coaching staff? Meaning all QB coaches helped with the decision process.

I don’t think Fancher or Jackson are good. They were backups at best where they came from.
Kind of ridiculous to lump Fancher and Jackson together as “backups at best”.

Fancher has been average to bad as a starter for three years at two different G5 schools. There’s a pretty good sample-size of what he can (or can’t) do.

Jackson backed-up an NFL-bound QB this year for a B10 school that made the playoffs. We don’t know if he can play or not, but he certainly doesn’t deserve to be written off in the same sentence as Fancher.

He was the starter and lost the job at Indiana. He was at Tennessee before that. He’s played in 16 games and started 6. He’s 3-3 as starter with 6 TDs and 6 interceptions total. They had no confidence in him and grabbed ORourke from portal.

Well maybe he'll improve this season. At least he's got more P4 starts than anyone else in the room.

Fingers crossed.

He made tremendous improvement from the 2023 season to 2024 season. I watched the games he played in for both seasons, stats don't tell the whole story. He went from 2:5 ratio to 4:1 and tbh the int shouldn't of counted because it was badly missed pass interference call. I can confidently say that there is a difference between him and Rizk. He still has some issues he needs to work on but I can say that he has the highest ceiling of any quarterback that we had on roster this spring.

Havent watched the film of the fau kid but i can say beyond a shadow of a doubt rizk was better than jacurri. So me thinks taven is our guy

They are not any good. Fans don’t understand the state of the UCF QB (not trolling). UCF media is not very credible with their football takes as they either have no idea as to what they are looking at and/or are unwilling to offer critical analysis.

I don’t see Mikey doing great at Michigan.

Tayven Jackson is the real deal. Indiana is a football mecca. It is the first place that comes to mind when I think about ELITE quarterback play. Who wouldn't want a Hoosier? And the supporting cast at UCF will be far superior to that of Bloomington.

Here's to hoping we can pickup another QB in the portal, but they are gonna be way behind not having been here for Spring. So the likelihood of a transfer coming in now and starting is low.
The likelihood is ZERO.

After the Jackson transfer went down Indiana fans spoke highly of him and there is a difference between saying he could be serviceable and thinking he is ‘very good’ which I haven’t seen any UCF Fan say. Fan engagement has been almost non existent during camp, a lot of wait and see apathy.
