Our luck was bound to run out. Yes, I believe we had some bad play calls but a lot of it was due to a bad o-line and a QB who was having a bad day and trying to make things happen. Very sad. These losses hurt the most for me.

I wanted to like Frost I really did but now I'm about to jump on the fire Frost bandwagon.

those infatuated w Holman will get your chance to eat crow if he plays next week if Milton is hurt and we have -50 offense vs a Tulane defense

Dis-Gus-Ting. I blame myself, I called it in my head at halftime...I just knew that we wouldn't do anything in the 2nd half, no matter how good we were playing. I'll try to think better thoughts next game.

If you're going to lose, this is the way to lose: 2 OT to Maryland, last play to Temple, and becoming a turnover machine and choking. This gnaws at players because you know you weren't outclassed. This makes you practice harder, watch more film, do that extra rep, etc.... Games like this will produce victories in thd future. This team should be something special in two years, and will be improved next year, although I think losing 7 starters on defense matters.

This is all Frost. Lack of halftime adjustments, the Defense hasn't given the ball up four freakin times deep in our own territory. Even though we were supposed to lose this one, nits how we lost that's so devastating.

So he made Milton play like trash?

True. Also the score of the first half was very misleading since Houston extended a lot of our drives with penalties. Even with the defense creating turnovers, I don't think we score that much if Houston didn't hurt themselves.

I thought the same but i also couldnt imagine Houston losing 3 of 4. We just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
If ESPN said we just rejevunated them then they must be right. Time for them to beat Louisville now.**

Having 7 defenders raised on GOL ways of defense might have helped Coach Frost's first season...and yes sometimes i wonder if they'll be struggling next year for it.

I would be fine if we were losing and that was it. Fine, needs time to rebuild, but to lose 2 out of three weeks with a 21 point lead bothers me. (And almost lose 3 weeks with a 21 point lead)

No, but he did not make halftime adjustments, like he didn't do in the Temple game, and like he didn't do today. You simply cannot win the game scoring 3 points in 4 quarters. Halftime adjustments would be short quick slants, use the tight end, and halfback out of the backfield, not running parallel to the line but rather north and south out of the back field. I still think Frost will be a truly outstanding coach, but games like these demonstrate he is still learning how to manage the game in BOTH halves. We have a rookie coach and a true freshman quarterback and we could not overcome that today.

I still would have liked to see "if" Holman could have created a spark off the bench, however I'm still behind and believe in Milton as the quarterback. Hopefully he will learn to not scramble and go 15 to 20 yards back before being sacked, or fumbling the rock, and he has got to stop throwing it so that the receiver can only make a move on the ball and not gain any YAC.

And bad coaching is still bad coaching. I've seen it three games in a row now. Frost reminds me of Ron Zook great recruiter, lots of energy, terrible game day coach.

I didn't see many coach calls to even screw up. Players collapsed and put the team in bad spots all day. Even 1st half but D bailed us out. D ran out of gas again. Don't blame them. Lots of freshman mistakes by multiple players including golden boy killins.

Good for you. I wish I would have done something productive instead of watching that second half atrocity.
I honestly think that this team will win these close games next year. We have the talent and SF is no dummy. We need to have an established run game though.

I was where you are after Temple. Not today. The kids turned it over before you could make any adjustments.

This offense is predicated on the inside run. I don't remember an inside run that went for more than a few yards today. We don't have the interior offensive linemen for this offense yet. The middle of the line is just a mass of humanity.

We aren't helping Holman develop.

LOL! Say what?

Most would call being up by 21 pt in the 3rd Q is the right place to be at the right time!

WTF is your problem...

Thought it was self-explanatory...I was just laughing at your comment "We just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time", when in reality, UCF was in a great place at a great time (i.e. up by 21 pts in the 3rd Q).

Nothing more...nothing less...just thought it was funny.

Well this what i thought. We were up against Temple and lost. We were up against UConn and survived. We were up 21 against Houston - who happened to have their back against the wall. Id understand if we were in the Navy or SMU slot with them at home. You really think they're going to drop a third game out of four at home? Sorry those thoughts were in the back of my mind when it came to a young team like ours facing a team in the midst of a good run but struggling.

Next year will bring new challenges...i.e. brand new defensive secondary and many new LB's due to graduation.

Hopefully the OL will improve...and odds are, Milton will be the only scholarship player on the roster who will have thrown a pass at the collegiate level when the season starts...so QB depth, make that EXPERIENCED depth will be fragile.
