UCF vs Houston Gamethread

Next year will bring new challenges...i.e. brand new defensive secondary and many new LB's due to graduation.

Hopefully the OL will improve...and odds are, Milton will be the only scholarship player on the roster who will have thrown a pass at the collegiate level when the season starts...so QB depth, make that EXPERIENCED depth will be fragile.
If 18 is back then we're good. He's all we need

Forget about UCF having a meltdown. This post is having a meltdown. All is well. We need to all relax. We are 4-4.
Last year we were 0-12.

Good news is we aren't losing Frost now until 2018 at least and most likely any of the other coaches.

We aren't helping Holman develop.

I get what you're saying, but to allow Holman to come in and potentially create a spark while Milton catches his breath and regains a little confidence might actually help in his development. Of course that's presuming Holman would create said "spark." It was clear to me at least that Milton was entirely ineffective and lacked any confidence in the second half. We play the game to win, we should never forego that at the expense of developing players. IMHO

That wasn't even needed...as putting Milton on the sideline so he could get desperately needed coaching watching UH D from our supposedly QB Guru Coach, plus from Frost as well...if Holman lead to a 3 and out/punt...that would have been a POSITIVE compared to 4 other series that Milton lead with very fast turnovers.

That's why there was almost zero risk bringing in Holman...as Milton would have received extra coaching (hopefully it would have helped) and odds are...Holman wouldn't turn the ball over 4 times on 5 drives.

I think he was kidding about Holman develop. Holman is retiring in 4 games.

How does not playing equate to extra coaching?

Just google what other QB's have done/said after watching the opposition from the sideline and/or talking to QB/Offensive Coordinators while the D is switching/lining up. (Hint: Most say it was very helpful to see/hear).

I would think most people learn more by film study and playing.
