I was excited about the potential with the defense. They put alot of pressure on the QB and locked down the run. Not sure they were really tested, but alot of players saw the field.

I missed most of the first half, but I thought JRP played well from what I saw. I was very impressed with the DL. I'm not putting a lot of stock in this game, I don't know much about SC State. But from what I saw the D looked really good. we will know a lot more about this team about this time next Friday.
Plum had no reason to play the second half. Unnecessary hits. Same for Bowser
Disagree. With his long gap of not playing QB and so much roster turnover you have to play them more . especially when the 2nd quarter and almost first half of the 3rd was some flat play.
Maybe pull Bowser earlier who didn’t play well anyway
Very telling Keene didn’t play. Look for him to transfer after this season. He had to be the 2 just on paper.
TC can only play in 4 games. Makes sense for last night to be one of the 4.
Looks like Malzahn plans to roll the dice until Bowser gets banged up again. Very little reason for a RB who has more experienced than anybody to have so many carries in a blowout vs. an fcs team.

Four skill position starters and two OL starters that were all on different teams last season, and JRP wasn’t even playing the same position. That’s what I had to really slow myself down and think about. These boys need reps together. I still hate that they fed Bowser so much. We’ve seen the impact he has when he’s out and I don’t understand the will to risk when we have depth for a game like this.
I also didn’t like Wilson taking all the returns. Another useless risk.
That being said there were a lot of great things.
Loved Koby Perry flying all over the place.
TWO TE Touchdowns!
JRP really only missed a couple throws, and one big miss (didn’t see) to a wide-open Bowser that could have been a huge play. But I am happy with what I saw. He could have had an even bigger day without a few key drops.
Penalties were my biggest takeaway. 11 for 95 yards iirc. Can’t afford to do that against quality opponents. Hopefully they get that cleaned up.
End of the first half I would have given the offense a B- grade. Total game I am going A-. Defense was stellar.
On to Louisville, GKCO!

If SCSU doesn't get the fumble recovery and blocked punt, the game is 63 or 70-0.

I kind of agreed they should have been pulled earlier. Plumlee needs tons of reps so I understand it.
If Gus kept JRP in for 97% of SCSU game, hes not pulling him against many teams. Im betting Keene Redshirts. Then transfers.
Agree, i dont see us saving tc’s redshirt if we need him. Keene may see mop up duty in 4 games but those reps may go to TC to get him experience
