UCF vs Tulsa Game Thread

McRae hurt. Bentavious hurt. Anderson playing hurt....warrior...but he didn't have his burst, and on the last drive of the game Goode was out there playing. That speaks for itself. We are just in a bad place right now at the RB position. Our ability to bust out the clown car at RB has been a key to our success. Tonight we had like 3/4 of one RB and that was it.

Lost a bunch of RBs tonight, Richie Grant, and our next top WR on the last play of the game (he was knocked out with a concussion looks like). The next few weeks will be tough for depth
They cut to him still on the ground surrounded by some people for just a second, a couple of minutes after the game ended. And with the way his arms went limp when he came down to the ground, that’s what I can assume.
We weren’t running tempo like we should. Snapping ball with 5 seconds to go on play clock instead of 25. Just staring at sideline waiting for a play call for 15 seconds is unacceptable. Throwing a helmet is unacceptable. Even if we win conference we don’t get the G5 slot now. Shitty bowl no matter what.
Exemplifies Heup gagging under pressure... second guessing his plays and panicking about what to do. We all saw that face of panic enough last year and the mask this year can’t hide it.
Stoops fired Heupel for good reason....he knows that face we’ve become too familiar with.
We need to fix our issues. If we can, then we are still a lock for NY6. NO other conference will even come close, especially with Cincy, Memphis, and Houston all still on the schedule. Wins over those types of teams really can get us going in the right direction again.
When you’re rushing game isn’t working and you’re down to the fifth string running back, I think it’s natural to second guess your plays
Heups problem is in his system, not whether he chokes. There's a reason that nobody uses a run-n-shoot offense anymore, which is pretty much what Heup runs. Its like the triple option, where being unique will get you 7 wins a year but the better teams have the athletes, coaches, and experience to neuter it. That being said, last night was about penalties. Every team has those games so unless it becomes a pattern just move on and get ready for next Saturday.

Here's the thing: UCF has better athletes overall than Tulsa. There's no way Tulsa should be getting pressure with just 3 guys allowing 8 to drop back and play tight man on all the receiver options.
The perfect counter to that is to have a QB mobile enough to run. DG is not the runner MM is. I guarantee you if MM were healthy enough to play UCF would have shredded Tulsa with long, sustained drives because MM would get the 6-7 yards if nothing was available downfield.
DG has talent, but his decision-making and ability to improvise in quick moments is not very good.
Is MM going to play this year or does he still qualify to get a redshirt until next year?

I mean if we win out, we could still be the best of the G5 and get into the NY6 right? Not like I have confidence we’ll beat Cinci, but still possible?
We won't win any of those games if the team plays like they did last night.
