Wow. The OP obviously isn't looking at this from a student athletes perspective. These are kids who are trying to make a decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives. If you want to rush someone into that sort of decision then you're only looking at things from the perspective of what the kid can do for you, not what the school can do for the kid.

Recruiting is a tough sport but putting undue pressure on a 17 year old kid just pushes it over the top. Not to mention that it would do absolutely no good for any team to engage in such a practice.
 
@Crazyhole, if an athlete isn’t absolutely sure then he shouldn’t make a verbal commitment. Many athletes have not made up their minds and therefore have not committed or even signed with a school. It’s that simple. Because most schools stop looking to fill that spot when they get a commit only finding out later the athlete wasn’t serious to begin with.
