between now and inauguration day?

Let's say one of them dies after voting begins but before election day. One of the requirements to be president is that you have to be alive so any ballot cast for that candidate would be invalid. Would they just defer to the VP on the ballot? I'm sure there would be a court challenge to that.

What if one of them dies after winning the election, and this would apply more to Biden/Harris, but the order of succession probably doesn't apply if the president isn't sworn in.

Would the speaker of the house become president? What if, in this scenario the current speaker didn't win re-election? Would they hold a new vote? Is it possible that we could find ourselves without a president for a period of time?

Both of them are on the ballot, so votes would go to Mike Pence or Kalamazoo Harris. If it happened after the election same would apply as both are on the ballot.

So its constitutional to elect a dead person? How does this work with the EC? There are state laws now that require electors to cast their ballot for the person that won the popular vote, so would they have to cast their ballot for a dead person while others cast theirs for the VP nominee, leading to no candidate getting to 270?

That is a great question. It seems you’re not the first to ask it. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...draws-or-dies-before-election-is-over-part-2/

If no candidate reaches 270 then it goes to a House vote.

If Donald dies, Pence wins in a landslide because too many lefties would be out in the street partying.

Since the Democrats love to celebrate death, then they do what they do best

Celebrate baby!
