Phillip Dukes of On3 Sports Interview Talking UCF Knights Recruiting 📈

Had the opportunity to sit down and interview a fast rising star in the recruiting media space, Phillip Dukes. Auburn man that used to be a contributor to their 247Sports affiliate that has close ties to our staff and excellent insight into what we’re building in Orlando. He just recently joined On3 Sports and is very bullish on what UCF can achieve this year.

Got me hyped. Take a listen!

Around The Kingdom: Will UCF Football win more than 7.5 games?

Join Eric Lopez and Trace Trylko as they debate some of the current topics surrounding UCF Athletics.

In this episode, the guys talk about the release of Circa Sports win projections for 2024, which has the Knights at 7.5 wins.

However, some pundits still don't think UCF has enough toughness to contend - so what gives?

Also: Softball goes to the Regionals, baseball lacks some buzz, Boise makes an interesting decision, and iconic sports venue.

Baylor AD: "The Big 12, we've really gotta focus on football"

Wonder if this is grumbling over the new Pac 12 additions and or even a shot at Yormark? He is right...football pays the bills and the conf will have to do better to help ellivate THE sport.

Big 12 Conference Championship Scenarios

With us going 1-1 today we have locked in either the 8 or 9 seed in the Big 12 tournament.

For us to get the 8 seed we need a win over Baylor and a TCU loss to WVU.

For a 9 seed a loss or a TCU win would secure us there.

Scenario 1 happens and we will be playing Cincinnati in the first round for the 5 / 8 matchup. Texas would be awaiting the winner of us and Cincy for round 2. Unless Texas Tech were to upset the 3 seed. Then we’d skip round 2 (idk the format is weird).

Scenario 2 and it depends. As it stands right now we would play WVU. Idk what’s going on in the Okie State and Houston series but I’m going to assume that Okie State wins that series so they will likely be the 3 seed, but if Okie State were to drop a couple we could face them in the first round. So either us vs WVU / OSU. Oklahoma awaiting the winner in round 2.

Scenario 1 is a much better draw imho. So root for us and WVU tomorrow!

Lots of baseball left to be played. Tonight was frustrating but they have to get the job done tomorrow and it should be an all hands on deck effort from the pitching staff. No excuses. If they can’t pull off a series win against Baylor we don’t deserve an at large bid.

OT-Would you visit and recreate at a power plant?

I watched a news story about a power plant in Copenhagen that they use as a tourist attraction/ski resort, and thought it would be a pretty cool thing to do here in the U.S. Would this work here?

Knight Nation has lost another good soul

I just found out that David Detwiler recently passed after a challenging disease fight.

He was a familiar site in the RV Lot at UCF Games to scores of UCF Fan get togethers and other Alumni events.

He was a Great Knight and I know he will continue to Charge On in Heaven.

May God watch over his wife, Susan and his Great kids.

Miss ya bud.

Once a top Heisman candidate, former Auburn Tigers QB Jeremy Johnson is making history in Mexico

Johnson, a former quarterback of the Auburn Tigers who was once a candidate for the Heisman Trophy, has re-written the history books in Mexico as the powerhouse Caudillos have beaten everyone in their way, having no losses since joining the league in 2023 as an expansion team of the LFA, which was founded in 2016. A perfect 20-0 record. In large part thanks to Johnson.

"...And, and if you really look at it, you have the NFL, CFL, the UFL. And then it's LFA. So, I mean, this league is fourth in the (world)."

2022: 1,538 yards 16 TDs 6 Int.
2023: 2,465 yards 32 TDs 3 Int.*
2024: 2,075 Yards 23 TDs 9 Int. **

*Undefeated champion at 12-0 including playoffs.
**Headed to semifinals as the No. 1 seed with a perfect 8-0 record, frontrunner for MVP.

Fast forward to today, Johnson is two games away from adding another undefeated championship to his team, the Chihuahua Caudillos...
