***UCF center recruit visiting 🏀

This has been mentioned several times over the last few months, but DME Academy center Moustapha Thiam is still expected to reclassify to the 2024 class which should be announced soon. He was on campus this weekend for his official visit.

Arkansas, USC and UCLA are trying to flip him by offering more NIL, but he wants to play for Johnny Dawkins. H/T to @UCFStan for the insight.

Here's a look at where things currently stand with the 2024-25 roster:

Returning players (4):

Darius Johnson
Jaylin Sellers
Nils Machowski
Tyler Hendricks

2024 recruits (2):

Cameron Simpson
Moustapha Thiam

Transfer commitments (3):

Mikey Williams (Memphis)
Benny Williams (Syracuse)
Keyshawn Hall (George Mason)

MBB teams are allowed 13 scholarships, which means there are four spots available.

JJ Taylor (Memphis transfer) has been rumored to be coming, but nothing announced/official on that.

Size is a priority especially with Thierno Sylla hitting the portal.

OT: looking for temporary office space

The company I work for will be transitioning to a new location within a couple of months, but there will likely be a gap of about 2-4 weeks before the new location is ready. The plan is to have everyone work from home during that period. However, I'm currently living in a small one-bedroom apartment with my wife, who works 2nd shift and would be home during most of the day. Not really a conducive environment for getting work done.

So basically looking to seeing if anyone here might happen to own or operate a business that might have some office space available on a short-term basis. I would provide my own laptop, would only need wifi access. I'm also looking at various short-term office rentals or co-working options, but figured I'd check the Dungeon as well.

If this is something that anyone here might be able to help out with, please DM me to discuss details.

How do young QBs actually get meaningful playing time experience with the portal

Before the portal when QB1 went down you rolled with QB2 even if that guy was a true freshman or had never taken a snap. Freshmen had a shot at earning the start like KZ, DG and Godfry. Now we seem to be looking for "experience" to fill that gap all the time, but that seems like short term thinking to me. We are talking with Jacurri Brown who has very little playing time. Seems to me a recipe for another Tommy Castellanos deal. At what point do you roll with your young guys?

Miami QB transfer Jacurri Brown commits to UCF

scufutmqgrif1tjotirb

Miami quarterback transfer Jacurri Brown has committed to UCF following his weekend visit to Orlando.

The No. 5 ranked dual-threat quarterback in the 2022 class, the Valdosta, Ga., native made three starts in two seasons for the Hurricanes. His most extensive action came during his 2022 true freshman season in which he appeared in eight games and started two with a final stat line of 27-for-45 passing for 230 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions. He rushed for 223 yards, which was third-best on the team.

Brown maintained his redshirt in 2023, though did start the Pinstripe Bowl against Rutgers completing 20-of-31 passes for 181 yards with one touchdown and one interception. He also rushed for 57 yards and two touchdowns.

Some thought Brown could contend for Miami's starting QB job in 2024, though that became less likely when the 'Canes secured a mid-January commitment from Washington State transfer Cam Ward who had initially declared for the NFL Draft.

For UCF, Brown represents a big 2023 insurance policy as well as a promising young player who could eventually contend to be starter (he has three years of eligibility remaining). With backup Timmy McClain hitting the transfer portal, UCF's quarterback room was down to starter KJ Jefferson and a trio of freshmen: Dylan Rizk, Riley Trujillo and EJ Colson. Rizk redshirted last season and spent the spring splitting No. 2 reps with McClain. Trujillo joined the team in January and Colson is set to enroll this summer.

ARTICLE: UCF Baseball - Knights need to keep momentum going

After a frustrating week full of close losses, the Knights entered Week 10 with the lightest portion of the schedule ahead of them needing a strong bounce-back run.

With the North Florida Ospreys and Central Michigan Chippewas starting the first half of an eight-game homestand at The John™, the Knights looked to get back to their winning ways without the worry of conference competition.

As stated last week, this week needed to be perfect. So, what happened?

Party at the Bounce House!

https://www.derbydayorlando.com/

This year the company I work for, Loyal Source is having its annual Derby Day party to support UCF CARD at the Bounce House. This event in years past has been at Ember downtown but with the company’s connection and support of UCF Athletics and NIL we are moving the party. Loyal Source was a game day sponsor for the Houston game this year and the title sponsor of the Kingdom Golf Event at Top Golf. We are planning on a bunch of involvement from UCF athletics and our own employees (Adrian Killins, BJ Taylor and Dariel Mack) to help support NIL on top of what will got to UCF Card. An email should be going to out shareholders soon about sponsorship options for golf and the party. Please let me know if your business would be interested
