OT: $3,500 for Warehouse "Breakroom" Commercial Shoot?

Hey Dungeon,

I have a shoot coming up with a client who was looking for a warehouse breakroom or office that overlooks a warehouse floor in the Orlando area...from Kissimmee to Sanford. (The bigger office/breakroom, the better).

Production would pay $3,500 to rent facility for one day and also $500 to an employee to be with us on that day (most likely a Saturday).

Something like this:

Also...the dirtier and old, the better.

If a Dungeon Member leads to this shoot, I will also donate $100 to either UCFAA or to the Kingdom NIL.

Thanks!

Shoot me a DM. Tks

Four-star LB TJ Alford visits UCF: 'It's like a big family' (interview added)

He just visited Miami. Rivals update from today:

Another commitment date set for this month, the dynamic linebacker is set to come off the board on March 30. Alford has plenty of suitors but the race feels like it could already be down to a trio -- in-state Miami, Florida State and national power Ohio State. The Hurricanes got him on campus this week and he could return before all is said and done, same for the Seminoles with some three weeks left until the pick. OSU has been pressing as much as any program for as long as any program, so buzz from the program in Columbus will remain. Florida, UCF and Tennessee round out Alford's top contenders, but the race to March 30 is coming from a smaller list. This recruitment won't be over at the end of the month, though, as official visits are already being discussed for the summer months.

Big XII Pro Day Starts Today

USATSI_22163353-scaled.jpg

After 16 months of working closely with the NFL to turn it into a reality, it’s time to find out whether conference pro days just might be the future.

The first Big 12 Pro Day, an event bringing the conference’s draft-eligible talent together for a four-day showcase at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, kicks off Wednesday. It’s an unprecedented attempt to give 137 Big 12 players an improved opportunity to prove they belong in pro football.

The objective from the start was replicating the NFL combine experience on a conference basis. The setup inside the Dallas Cowboys’ Ford Center will look just like the one used in Indianapolis, with testing and position drills beginning Thursday with quarterbacks, receivers, tight ends, running backs and defensive backs. NoBull is providing the apparel. Zebra is bringing its player-tracking technology. NFL Network will be on-site to televise the event. For Big 12 players who weren’t invited to Indy, it’ll be as authentic of a combine experience as possible.

And most importantly, they’ll get to work out in front of and interview with more than 130 NFL scouts and staffers representing all 32 NFL organizations plus scouts from the UFL and CFL.

“I’m thrilled about it,” Yormark said. “I think it’s a big opportunity for us to showcase our football brand and how we do things and obviously provide a great platform for our student-athletes.”

Who has a shot to make that list this year? Among the most intriguing combine snubs coming to Frisco are defensive backs Kenny Logan Jr. (Kansas), Beanie Bishop Jr. (West Virginia) and Mark Perry (TCU), as well as tight end Mason Fairchild (Kansas), offensive lineman Doug Nester (West Virginia) and defensive lineman Jowon Briggs (Cincinnati). Three QBs are scheduled to attend: UCF’s John Rhys Plumlee, Kansas’ Jason Bean and Cincinnati’s Emory Jones.

Sorta OT: Birmingham Southern to Close

BSU gave us Joe Dean, Jr as our MBB HC. It had a very successful NAIA program in the 70s & 80s.

***Video: Spring Practice Footage - March 26 📹

Here's a few clips from our viewing window during Tuesday's practice:

-KJ Jefferson hand-off to RJ Harvey.

-KJ rolls out and finds a wide open Xavier Townsend for a touchdown.

-Dylan Rizk throws it up into double coverage, ball is deflected by Nicholas Antoine and intercepted by William Wells.

-KJ throws a quick pass to Jarrad Baker (I think that's 19).

-KJ has nowhere to go with it, so he gallops for a few yards.

-Timmy McClain completes a pass to Stephen Martin in the middle of the field.

-Timmy's long throw to Tyree Patterson is incomplete with coverage from Bryon Threats.

-Dylan Rizk completes a pass to Kason Stokes.

Former UCF Football assistant coaches

Former WR coach Grant Heard, who was dismissed following the season, has resurfaced at the WR coach at Eastern Michigan.

Former LB coach Ernie Sims, also dismissed, appears to have resurfaced at FSU in an off-field role but no announcement yet on title.

***Nikai Martinez excited about Ted Roof's defense ⚔️🏈

Nikai Martinez was the Hometown Hero who started it all.

In the Summer of 2021, the four-star prospect from Apopka was the first high-profile local star to commit to Gus Malzahn, starting the trend that eventually became a wave of top prospects staying home to play for UCF.

Now after two years in the program, Martinez is an established defensive presence. He started all 13 games at safety in 2022 and was tied for the team lead in interceptions with three.

We caught up with him following Tuesday's spring practice.

Martinez has always aspired to be a leader. He feels like the younger guys can come to him with questions.

New CB coach Trovon Reed is a obviously younger coach who brings a lot energy.

Martinez felt he was a bit too small last season, so he's put on 10 pounds.

Ted Roof's defense will be more physical and they'll get after the QBs/RBs more with different pressures.

Asked about players that have impressed him, CB Chasen Johnson for sure. He doesn't look like a freshman. He's been getting pass breakups. Just trusting himself. He made it known the first day that he's here to play.

Speaking more about the defense under Ted Roof, stopping the run is a big emphasis, obviously. Different disguises and blitzes to mess with the QB's head. They'll be forcing a lot of turnovers.

RJ Harvey and Kobe Hudson have been legit competition on the offensive side.

On the defensive transfers, Nikai likes Ladarius Tennison and Bryon Threats.

Since the season, he's rewatched every game multiple times to focus on how he can get better.

***Demari Henderson reflects on breakthrough season ⚔️🏈

UCF's Demari Henderson emerged as a rising star in 2022, finishing the season as a starting safety and earning a spot on the All-Big 12 team as an honorable mention.

Henderson finished the year with 45 tackles, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. We caught up with him following Tuesday's spring practice.

Henderson said the Oklahoma State game was a special game for him. He got his first interception in that game and then added a second. He reflected more on that game and said they were fully aware about the outside noise regarding OSU RB Ollie Gordon and how people thought he would run all over the defense. They knew they had to step up in that game.

Knowing how big that game was for him, he said he was on "cloud nine," just knowing what a big impact he made.

The biggest thing about Ted Roof's defense is bringing a lot of different pressures.

He played with Chasen Johnson at Seminole, so it's cool seeing him do well this spring at corner.

His brother Ja'Cari is trying to work his way back from injury. He knows he'll get back.

Goals for this season - he just wants to win. Win a championship. As far as they can go.

Defense has to stop the run this year.

In regards to the defensive transfers, DeMari says "everybody" is standing out, like Ladarius Tennison, Bryon Threats and Antione Jackson.

He's looking forward to the UF game. They recruited him a little bit.

Jimmy Horn, one of his close friends from Seminole, plays for Colorado so that game will be a homecoming of sorts. There will be a lot of talking in that one. He knows he's pumped up for the game.

Everybody is focused. They know they were better than their 6-7 record. No playing in the weight room. They're trying to win every game and get to the Big 12 Championship.

UCF Spring Football Camp Report: "We aren't the same team"

The UCF Knights football team is back on the practice field to continue the 2024 Spring camp. As they get prepared for their first scrimmage of the season, the message from team leaders and coaches is simple: this is not the same team that ended the 2023 season. Bolstered by key additions from the transfer portal and the emergence of some young talent, the Knights have much to prove to themselves, and others, about the makeup of this 2024 team.

NFL proposes new kickoff rules

It is just a proposal, but its goal is to simultaneously increase the number of returns vs touchbacks, while reducing contact speed of opposing teams.

The idea is to kickoff from the opponent's 40, with most of the receiving team lined up at the 35 and 2 returners inside the 20. Onside kicks have to be announced ahead of time. Nobody can move until the returner touches the ball. Squib or short kicks that don't cross the 20 in the air are considered illegal procedure with the receiving team getting the ball on the 40. Balls kicked into the endzone on the fly are a touchback and placed at the 35. If the ball rolls into the endzone after touching the ground, it's a touchback and placed on the 20.
