Day before game update: UCF Hoops vs WVU, Tues Jan 23rd at 7 pm Ticket Watch: $6 Lower Bowl Tix

I know some out of town season ticket holders can't make some week night games so there are some GREAT ticket deals for the next UCF home game on Tues, Jan 23rd.

Best deals:

$9 Lower bowl tickets in 102 and 103. Sec 104 has $10 tickets.

Tickets in upper bowl start at $5.75 (includes fees)

Best fits for five-star Alabama transfer QB Julian Sayin

ESPN:

While the winter transfer portal in college football has officially been closed for almost two weeks now, the rule allowing players to enter the transfer portal if a coaching change has been made has rocked the roster of the Alabama Crimson Tide and their new head coach Kalen DeDoer.

The most recent departure being the No. 1 ranked QB in the 2024 ESPN 300 Julian Sayin (Carlsbad, California). To say the least, this shakes up the portal, but also may shape the decisions of future 2025 QB recruiting decisions as well.

Sayin enrolled early at Alabama and began classes earlier this month, coinciding with the announcement of coach Nick Saban's retirement.

While most top-level prospects both from the 2024 recruiting class and the portal have signed, this leaves Sayin with a decision that needs to be carefully thought out not only in terms of comfort and fit, but opportunity.

OT: Orlando Valkyries Tix include 2 All Inclusive Sections (all you can eat, drink, including liquor, beer, soft drinks). Photos of court/set up

Yesterday was the Open House for the Orlando Valkyries that will be playing inside Addition Financial Arena.

They will have multiple premium seating areas including:

Black & Gold Club

The same Courtside Club as UCF Men's Basketball but this one includes All You Can Drink Booze, Beer and Wine plus food buffets.

They will also have a VIP section that surrounds the court that will include a VIP Lounge (where half of the student bleachers are pulled back) that will be all in-inclusive area that I think will provide the first seating with unlimited booze, beer and food offerings.

Court also looked pretty cool...and their season opening game is this Friday Night vs Atlanta, who is lead by former UCF Volleyball Coaching Legend Todd Dagenais.

Team provided free food & drinks to fans that showed up yesterday for Open House and Open Practice. (Team had a closed door scrimmage vs a good college team yesterday).

(I filled in for Kevin Reis so here are some picks)

Uh..Oh!! Bronny James almost died from the deadly Covid jab!!!

Or not!!!

@Boston.Knight
@UCFBS

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bronny Jameswent into cardiac arrest during a basketball workout at the University of Southern California last month because of a congenital heart defect, according to a family spokeswoman.

The 18-year-old son of Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was stricken on July 24. He was hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and later was seen by doctors at the Mayo Clinic and Atlantic Health-Morristown Medical Center in New Jersey.
“It is an anatomically and functionally significant Congenital Heart Defect which can and will be treated,” the statement said. “We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future.”

OT: Investment Opportunity for Fellow Knight

Looking for a fellow Knight or be networked to an investment group for a unique opportunity that we are currently shopping:

Opportunity: Sports Academy

**Background:

- Have grown from $0/month to ~40k/month in revenues in 14 months with just one sport. With no accessory revenue and now at capacity

- Great branding appealing to all sport academy

- located in one of the fastest growing counties in the country. Insane amount of homes permitted.

- Networked with IMG and a few colleges

- Looking to play a market role sub-tier to IMG which involves $80k/year that many can’t afford. Big market here.

- 2 facilities currently leased and now moving to build headquarters.

**My background

- 25 years in corporate finance and strategy working with top management consulting firms scaling operations , business development , commercial strategy , transformations for 4 Fortune 500 companies
- Overseen annual sales of up to $40B , $6B cash flow and annual capital of $1.5B
- Significant experience in enterprise valuation, finance optimization and derisking projects.
- Only had to invest $50k to get this going, but currently running financials for $1.2M land purchase.
- Other BOD member ran 1000+ football club

**Other notes:

- This ones fun: Currently in discussion with former UCF football assistant about running football program. Not current sport

- Business has no overhead. I have automated most back office functions. I do all branding, web, etc. soon I’ll just have AI do that ;)

- Tuition is subscription based and can see a 100% increase per customer with new facility and customers will retain at 80% (est)

- Revenue and cash flow growth potential of 10-20x in 3 years.

- IMG had an EV of $1.5B. This business is highly scalable and quickly with low capital requirements and low labor cost.

***Ask and get in touch

- Serious inquiries only. This is a get in early moderate risk , high reward opportunity

- $1.5M land budget though we are working with county commissioners to see if we can score a 99 year lease. Land can be held in seperate entity as land lease and should appreciate as we negotiate to bottom. Best friend astute commercial RE here for 20 years.

- $2M-$3M building budget. Club parent who is large builder who has good money has agreed to build 30k sqft facility at his cost. Design, permit, civil, etc. Good capex experience on our team to value engineer the project. Market valuation expected at $3-5M on building as there will be no margin on the building as mentioned. Other companies talking about donating materials. In other words equity will be built in.

- Club parent high up with Orlando Health. They have expanded across Florida. Will be approaching several about sponsorship. Currently in discussion on a 2k sqft wellness center inside facility with OH kiosks.

- A couple pieces of land already getting contracts submitted to do the due dillegence

- 5-7 acres and multiple sports indoor/outdoor and full asset utilization to derisk the project even further.

- Mix of structured debt, equity and sponsorships/donations being sought. We just started this process last week and some club parents have stepped forward. Ask ranges from $500k to $4M. One partner preferred.

- Debt/equity to be preferred with $1M in free cash flow by 2026 possible.

**Wrapup

My current perspective is that this is simply a really fun and enjoyable opportunity. It’s really rewarding to make an impact at a community level with these kids. It’s been thrilling.
I have the experience and background to scale this quickly and there is a huge void across the state. While there is moderate risk, there is also a realistic potential of mid 8 figure revenue in 5 years if we fuel it . We have jumped out to $500k run rate with little effort. Demand is severely underserved and inelastic. Also a luxury service and more insulated from economic downturn. Avg surrounding property values $800-$1.2M for long distances.

If you are a high worth net individual that would be interested in hearing more let’s talk. We can even have lunch with that former UCF coach :)

DM or reply here if interested. Maintaining some confidentiality for now.

UCF game notes:

Saturday’s meeting with Houston will be the 34th all-time between the two sides. The Knights will be seeking its first win in the last seven tries, with their most recent victory coming on Mar. 9, 2019. UCF spoiled College Gameday for the Cougars in their home arena that day, beating then-No. 6 Houston 69-64. The win was the first of two straight against ranked opponents for the Knights that season, which played a massive role in UCF earning an at-large berth into the 2018-19 NCAA Tournament.

UCF a Top 15 Transfer Portal Destination by Player Output

From Reddit,

"On3 has a net transfer portal rating, scaled from -100 to 100, that described how much a team has improved themselves through the portal in a given year (plus for additions, minus for losses). I averaged the index for the past 3 transfer cycle offseasons (2022, 2023, 2024), and present the results here, showing which teams have done the best and worst job improving themselves through the portal (for power 5 teams only)."
