OT: Fazoli's set to return to Orlando market

Every time we go to Fazolis in GA they seem busy. It’s time to make a comeback in FL

Your wish appears to be getting granted...

Fazoli's Is Set To Return To Orlando After 10 Year Hiatus
The fast casual Italian eatery will open in Orlando and Clermont.

...The Orlando Business Journal is reporting that Fazoli's is set to return to Orlando after almost 10 years!

The fast-casual Italian eatery was well ahead of it's time with unlimited breadsticks, and counter to table service meals.

A franchisee has reportedly signed a deal to open new eateries in Orlando although exact locations haven't been chosen.

Orlando Business Journal laid a broad statement of "Orlando and Clermont...

OT- I’m looking for a jeweler in Orlando

Picked up a diamond in New York this week and need to buy a ring and get it mounted in Orlando. I’ve got a guy I use for my watches and will check with him, but wanted to see if anyone here is in the business or knows someone here that I can check with as well. Want a 14k yellow gold plain band. In New York it was about $800 for a band and mount but we couldn’t wait to get it done. Not sure if it’s any cheaper here but I’m hoping to find someone reputable.

Recalibrating Basketball Expectations

What a freaking week! After the Kansas win my emotions ran the range from "are we a final 4 team" to "we still suck and wont win again." BYU, despite the loss gave me some hope that we could find some consistency. After last nights win I feel like it is time to officially update my expectations of this team.

Here is my case. We defend, that will keep us in games. This is the hallmark of JD's teams. Bill Self mentioned that we have good size and athleticism which will allow us to matchup well night in and night out. I think we can catch anyone, any night. Obviously we know that the offense has not been consistent and has been really bad at times. We don't seem to have a guy that can take over the game offensively so we are going to have to depend on everybody staying engaged and playing team ball.

All things considered I think the adjusted goal needs to be a .500 conference record. As others have said that puts in a position to be on the bubble for the Tournament. The thing about this team that I have loved over the past 3 games is that they have started to have a flair for playing well down that stretch. With CJ back it seems like the starting 5 are starting to gel a bit more so I am optimistic that we can find some consistency. This team is forging an identity that breeds some legitimate confidence.

Tell me how wrong I am. Where is everyone's head at?

Announcement! Leaving the Forum.

After next Wednesday, I will no longer post in this forum. Seriously, it’s not fun when UCF is struggling…going 6-6 and Kingdom NIL without the money to attract top portal transfers.

It also appears that many UCF fans are coming to this forum to escape the negativity (per their statement) found in the Dungeon. It’s not fair for me to be crapping on threads when fans just want to discuss among themselves.

AL1 should tuck tail and leave…his 24/7 365 gaslighting (simping for GM) is pathetic and unnecessary. That’s all.

***Transformational Updates Coming to UCF Basketball and Volleyball Competition and Training Facilities 🏀🏐

UCF Press Release:

UCF Athletics is excited to announce today that $12 million in competition and training facilities updates are coming to Addition Financial Arena, the Venue, Knights Plaza and adjacent residence halls in preparation for welcoming the next chapter of competition to Orlando.

The enhancements are part of UCF’s Mission XII initiative--as Knight teams prepare for Big 12 Conference competition beginning in 2023-24. UCF officially joins the Big 12 July 1, 2023. The upgrades touch a wide variety of areas within the basketball and volleyball programs and the Athletics Village, including more than 40 separate projects.

“The start of UCF’s competition in the Big 12 Conference will be a series of landmark moments for our athletics teams, alumni and fans,” says UCF vice president and director of athletics Terry Mohajir. “This long and comprehensive list of upgrades will enhance not only the gameday experiences but also day-to-day environments for our student-athletes, coaches and staff. All these projects give us an opportunity to enhance our success as we enter a new age for our institution as part of the Big 12.”

The planned improvements include (but are not limited to):

Addition Financial Arena

  • New basketball game court
  • Suite enhancements
  • Black & Gold Club seat replacements
  • Student entrance enhancements
  • Exterior lighting upgrades
  • Interior wall paint updates
Venue

  • Renovation of training and competition facility for volleyball
  • Renovations of both men’s and women’s basketball practice facilities
  • Addition of LED video board for volleyball
  • Upgrade of show/competition lights
  • Interior painting
  • Weight room enhancements
  • New audio system
  • Technology updates
  • Athletic training room expansion
  • Creation of a sports performance lab
  • New rehab/treatment pools in athletics training room
  • Team area enhancements
  • Men’s and women’s basketball film room upgrades
  • Men’s and women’s basketball office suite renovations
“Everyone with connections to our men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball programs will appreciate the enhancements within those two facilities. Plus, a number of our other teams—tennis, golf, track and field, baseball, spirit--have locker rooms in the Venue or use strength and conditioning and sports medicine areas there,” says Mohajir. “We anticipate upsized interest in our home events based on our upcoming Big 12 membership, and all these renovations will substantially improve the in-venue experiences.”

The improvements include multiple projects within Knights Plaza, the student residence areas and retail spaces surrounding Addition Financial Arena and the Venue.

Work on the list of individual projects will begin immediately.

The 10,000-seat Addition Financial Arena has been home to Knight basketball teams since it opened in 2007 after construction began in November 2005. The original price tag was $80 million.

The 2,500-seat Venue, connected to Addition Financial Arena, was renovated and reopened in April 2008 as an 87,000-square-foot home to Knight volleyball. It also includes practice courts and offices for men’s and women’s basketball and strength and athletic training facilities for all three programs.

Mission XII objectives are to fully support UCF student-athletes in their NIL endeavors, provide championship-caliber services to UCF student-athletes in their educational and career pursuits, position UCF athletics to win conference and national championships, successfully transition UCF Athletics into the Big 12 Conference, increase the UCF Athletics operating budget to be in the top half upon entry into the Big 12 (then target top third), maximize self-generated revenue through ticket sales/premium seating, ChargeOn Fund support, corporate partnerships, licensing and other avenues—and deliver unique, indigenous athletics facilities for all student-athletes and fans, starting with the UCF football campus.

Teacher / classroom wish list - UPDATED thank you note and pictures

update 2: posted a quick thank you note and pictures

UPDATE: @My_Lament_Dreams has posted their list here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/WC3ANEWSE3DS?ref_=wl_share

see their post here: https://ucf.forums.rivals.com/threads/teacher-classroom-wish-list.110594/post-2969326

They said: "Ok, I have never done a wishlist before but if y’all are feeling generous to support teachers, I could always use some supplies and items to spiff up my classroom. We found out we are only getting $100 stipends this year so I will have to make it stretch. Any support is appreciated and my students will certainly get much use from it all.

TUES 4th Grade Classroom Wishlist

My school is essentially and Title 1 school without the label, so no funding for it. We are even starting a Judy center at our school for lower income families to have childcare/early learning education access. I also run our multicultural festival that is the most attended and loved event (we had 800 attendees, families share food/culture/etc). Love our school community to death but we need our state to give us more $$$"

(my original post below, with wish list URL removed so we can support a dungeon poster)

I don’t care if it’s spam or tacky I’m posting this anyway

I’ve mentioned this before, my older brother has pancreatic cancer. He’s on 18 months since diagnosis, still maintaining well - wild since the docs only gave him 18 months total when he was first diagnosed

His wife is a teacher, he can’t work beyond doordash shit so money is tight for them with kids at home.

It’s a small thing but she has an Amazon wishlist for her classroom. It’s sad in this country teachers even have to do this but I’m posting here in case anyone wants to do a small affordable kindness for an incredibly kind, incredibly talented person. Breaks my heart seeing her post this knowing she would have to buy this stuff out of pocket with everything else they have going on

(removed, you guys did more than enough!!)

If anyone else has similar classroom lists for teachers in their lives post them. I’ll gladly buy something off theirs too and pay it forward

Edit also if we wipe the list out she said she’d gladly hang a UCF pennant in her classroom. She teaches in Knoxville and all the Vols like us (for now?) bc we gave them heup and Danny

Should Addison Williams be fired?

I have a gut feeling that Gus is going to be a giant puss and not make any changes to the staff. We should have heard SOMETHING by now. A glimmer, a flare something. Yet no one in the know seems to be talking about Addison being fired or gibbs or sims. This could be a disaster if we return Addison as dc in my opinion.

But does anyone else think he should be or would you give him another year?

INTERVIEW: Former UCF Volleyball's Abby Hansen ready to debut with the Orlando Valkyries

The inaugural season of the Pro Volleyball Federation kicks off in January and features the Orlando based Valkyries. For UCF fans, this new league will have a lot of familiarities, including playing home games at UCF's Addition Financial Arena. But, that is not all, as former UCF Knight Volleyball alum Abby Hansen will be on the court as a member of the Valkyries. The action gets started January 26th when Orlando takes on the Atlanta Vibe.

House Panel votes to hold Hunter Biden in Contempt...

...for not speaking with them---with him there sitting in the room! I kid you not.

I've already said I could give a rat's ass about what happens to the President's son. But this stunt is bullsh*t at its finest.

With Hunter Biden in the audience, the panel voted to hold him in contempt for....not meeting with their committee IN PRIVATE!!!!

Hunter's lawyer is telling the committee if they want to question him --- have at it!!! --- but do it in public so everyone can hear the committee questions and Hunter's answers. Normally, elected officials LOVE to pontificate in front of the TV cameras. Why should questioning Hunter Biden be any different?

As if this wasn't bad enough, Representative Nancy Mace of South Carolina asked, “Who bribed Hunter Biden to be here today?” She called Biden’s appearance “the epitome of White privilege” and --- GET THIS: --- questioned his Manhood for....refusing to testify to them behind closed doors. 🤪
