"People will come Ray...." "Is this Heaven?"

While this had been noted probably a dozen or more times during the search IF Frost landed the job, seeing Brandon's (hopefully last, he needs some SLEEP) early morning post, when he put this in BOLD: McKenzie Milton is a lock for staff, it finally hit home.

Ray, people will come, Ray.

They'll come to UCF for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up in your parking lot, not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past.

"Of course, we won't mind if you look around," you'll say. "It's only twenty dollars per person." They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it. For it is money they have and peace they lack.

And they'll walk out to the bleachers, and sit in shirt-sleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the sideline, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game, and it'll be as if they'd dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick, they'll have to brush them away from their faces.

People will come, Ray.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been college football.

America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It's been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt, and erased again. But college football has marked the time.

This field, this game -- it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good, and it could be again.

Ohhhhhhhh, people will come, Ray. People will most definitely come.

I will get goose bumps when I see the long line of cars with their headlights on....all coming home this fall.

Mack Brown UNC retired

Barry Odom UNLV -UCF Candidate
Will Stein- Oregon -UCF Candidate
Scott Frost Nebraska and UCF - UCF Candidate

Out of this group, Barry Odom and Scott Frost may be the best fit for UCF. Ed Orgeron could be the mystery hire we have forgotten about.

Scott Frost is "dying" to coach again, looks back fondly on his UCF days

Dennis Dodd:

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scott Frost is available. Actually, Scott Frost is more than available.

"For the first time in my life, I don't know what's next," the former Nebraska coach told CBS Sports. "I'm dying to get back in."

You don't see many national coach of the year winners as young as Frost, 49, without a job, but these are different times and unique circumstances.

Earning multiple coaching honors after leading UCF to an undefeated season and New Year's Six bowl win over Auburn in 2017, Frost went back home to Nebraska for a chance to lead his alma mater.

Dear Dungeonites,

I'm reaching out with a heartfelt request about someone truly extraordinary - my friend Mark Boggs. Mark is one of the nicest, kindest people I have ever known. He is going through a very hard battle with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.

I know many others may be going through things in their own lives and perhaps even worse. But Mark has basically no support system from family. When his friends, (me being one of them) found out about how bad things have gotten for him, we have tried to help in anyway we can. This is one of the ways I am helping, getting the word out there that he needs help.

Throughout his life, Mark has been a pillar of support for others, always putting the needs of those around him before his own. Now, in his moment of need, I'm hoping we can come together to support him with the same generosity he has shown countless times to others.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would make a profound difference in Mark's life during this difficult time. This is an opportunity to demonstrate the power of community, compassion, and mutual care - to show Mark that he is not alone.

I deeply believe that supporting Mark is not just an act of kindness, but a chance to honor a truly remarkable human being who has given so much of himself to others.

Thank you for considering this request with an open heart.

Sincerely,
Jeff

What would you consider a successful UCF Football 2025-2027 season to be?

file-48.jpg

With CSF returning, what are your projections for the 2025-2027 seasons, and how would you define success or failure for his first three years?

Here’s my take:

Success

• 2025: 6-7 (Bowl game appearance, but a loss)

• 2026: 10-4 (Bowl game win)

• 2027: 10-4 (Conference Championship Game appearance, but a loss)

I’m confident he’ll excel and bring us back to the program’s previous heights. I expect us to compete for a Conference Championship Game within the first three years.

Failure

Failing to reach a bowl game in any of the first three seasons would be unacceptable. If that happens, I believe he’ll be let go after year three. His leash will be short.

Question about bringing baby to basketball game

Me and wife are so excited about frost coming we bought tickets to go to tomorrow’s basketball game and will sit in club. We’ve been to countless basketball games together but we are bringing our 6 month old baby for first time.

For those who have been through this with a baby what are you allowed, and not allowed to bring? Can you bring a diaper bag? If not how did you do it? My wife bought a 12x12x6 clear bag in case we brought her to a football game (which we didn’t end up doing). Will this be ok? Any suggestions on how to best do this will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

UCF Gifting Nebraska $5m

They paid us $3m to take Frost but we may be saving them $5m. He is due $2.5m each for 2025/2026. If he takes another job Nebraska only has to make up the difference of his guaranteed pay from UCF and $2.5m. I really hope UCF is paying Frost a low salary and making it super incentive-heavy. Something like $1m base, $5m for making the CFP, $10m for winning it. I imagine if we paid him $100k or something that wouldn't be believable and would probably draw lawsuits but I hope we're minimizing the amount we're saving Nebraska as much as possible.
