Bounce house light upgrade fund

I know this is a recurring comment here but I haven’t heard anything about this moving forward. I’m not a rich man - but damn do we need these instant on/off/colors. I will donate the first couple grand toward the stadium light upgrade of the Bounce House

Anyone else in on making these lights happen? What is the all in cost? I’m sure this is peanuts towards what the total is but hopefully every bit helps.

28-7 good guys at the half - Been fun so far.

WOT: Helping babysit family's children

If you have close family member(s) who have very young children, (Like infant/toddler age), how would you feel about being asked to watch them for a couple of nights? Would you be excited to do it? Do it, but only because you feel obligated to, or just say they're your kids, you can hire a babysitter?

Asking because reasons. My wife and I apparently have two very different families when it comes to this.

OT: Zoe’s (Waterford) is going to Close

GOOD Zoe’s:
I’m currently at one of my favorite restaurants, Zoe’s and they are telling me their last day will be January 15, 2023.

They have fresh, made to order Mediterranean style food. You order at the cashier, and they bring it out. I thought there may be others that lied Zoe’s who might want to know.

EVIL CAVA:
An evil company called Cava bought them out, and is proceeding to close the remaining Zoe’s down one by one. Waterford was one of the last surviving ones.

The Cava they are replacing “some” with are like Moe’s or Chipotle… pre made, in a warmer, served up like a mess. It’s not the same, and the gods is Meh

Kicking off drivel season...

With the portal closing today, there are going to be many slow news days moving forward...

I have a theory about the relationship between Gus and John Rhys Plumlee. Gus, having been fired for the first time in his career at Auburn, is experiencing a mid-life coaching crisis. The 57-year-old and his wife moved away from their children and grand children and into the couples' Orlando retirement home in early 2021. The two empty-nesters never had a son, only two girls.

In comes John Rhys Plumlee, an All-American kid and the son the Malzahns never had. Daddy ball helps explain why Gus sees no wrong in JRP and blames others for not executing when plays go awry. No matter what Mikey Keene does, he can never live up to the perceived legacy of big brother JRP.

Whatcha think?

***2024 LB Samarian Robinson lands UCF offer during visit (interview)***

kmyas0a5qxzwjcrhqpwz

UCF linebackers coach and Tallahassee native Ernie Sims is making a player from his hometown a priority.

Sims, a five-star linebacker back in the day from North Florida Christian, sees a big future ahead for Samarian Robinson, a up and coming linebacker at Tallahassee-Lincoln. He offered Robinson at his previous stop and re-offered him during a recent unofficial visit.

"We've been talking to Coach Sims for a while," Robinson said. "I've been watching him since I was very young. He made me fall in love with FSU. I remember him from when I was like six years old. I've been going to his Big HITS Camps since he started them."

Last October, Robinson received his first offer from Sims and South Florida. Now at UCF, Sims invited Robinson and his family to see him down in Orlando this past weekend.

"He wanted me to come visit and get a little tour," Robinson said. "See everything UCF has to offer. We had a good long talk. I really liked meeting all the coaches. They were very cool and made me feel at home. The campus looked awesome."

In addition to Sims, Robinson said he spoke with head coach Gus Malzahn, defensive coordinator Addison Williams and several other coaches.

"Coach Malzahn told me to keep up the good work," Robinson said. "He said I'm doing a lot of good things and he's looking forward to talking to me more. I'm actually coming back again soon. I'll be at UCF again on the 27th for Friday Knight Lights."

Although Sims had previously offered him, Robinson wasn't necessarily expecting it to happen during this visit.

"It surprised me," Robinson said. "I was kind of shocked. I think it's turned more coaches my way because a lot of schools are now contacting me."

As a junior, the 6-foot-3, 215-pound Robinson tallied 93 tackles, three tackles for loss, five pass breakups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Robinson relayed what Sims told him when UCF offered.

"He said I'm a very good student-athlete," Robinson said. "I'm very smart. I'm talented and big with speed, I'm physical and strong. He said that I remind him a lot of him when he was younger."

Robinson began his career as a defensive back and continued at that spot through his 10th grade year. This past season was his first year at linebacker. He was playing alongside Raylen Wilson, a four-star prospect who just signed with Georgia.

"Raylen is like a role model to me," Robinson said. "He's been playing this game for a long time and gave me a lot of tips and pointers. He helped me a lot."

In the past week, Louisville and Arkansas have also offered. He's planning on visiting Troy this weekend.

As for early schools he's interested in, Robinson obviously likes UCF a lot as well as Georgia, Tennessee, South Carolina and Wake Forest.

As for UCF, Ernie Sims is obviously a big reason why he likes the Knights.

"He's a really cool guy," Robinson said. "I put my trust in him. I know I'd be in good hands with him."

Napier gets a C- and Cristobal gets and F

🤣🤣🤣

Napier's Gators shocked Utah in Week 1 ... and things went downhill from there. Florida showed flashes -- like a four-score win against South Carolina and competitive matchups with Florida State and LSU -- but ultimately finished with a losing record.

Hiring Cristobal was never a one-year decision, but the first year was a faceplant nonetheless. The Hurricanes failed to reach bowl eligibility for the first time since 2007 and lost to Middle Tennesseeas 26-point favorites. One year after going 5-3 in conference, Miami was outscored by 96 points in ACC play.

Ok Gus, Start Calling Portal QBs

Time to remove head from the sand and get another option when the QB1 looks like he did against a mediocre ACC team. Here are a few available guys that should be on the speed dial and should be below the radar a bit (we aren't getting Sanders, McCall, etc):

Malik Hornsby (Arkansas) - No shame in being the backup to Jefferson, has seen a little action in 2 years. Saw him play in HS, the real deal with some coaching needed on the fine points. #8 dual threat QB in 2020 class, 6' 2". In top 10 of portal QBs with a 0.89 transfer grade.

Some highlights from his 247 scouting profile......"A track athlete with verified top-end speed", "Presents a dynamic run threat as the triggerman to an explosive spread offense. Owns a strong arm with the ability to stretch the field vertically. At his most dangerous when allowed to present defenses with run-pass conflict via the RPO game or on broken plays. Capable of pulling away from defenses once he breaks free"

Just yesterday, another scout claimed he was "one of the fastest players in the SEC"

Chandler Rogers (La-Monroe) - Threw for 15 TDs (ran for 5 more) 7 int and 2400 yards this year on 68% completions. Ran for 350 yards. Was lightly recruited. Fluid athlete

Mike Wright (Vanderbilt) - a former UCF recruit for Heupel....6' 4", a part time starter at Vandy the past 2 years, #19 dual threat in 2019. Has thrown for 2,100 yrds in his career with 21 TDs and 11 ints. Has run for 900 yrds and 7 TDs.

Other guys that deserve a phone call, but have fewer qualifications in terms of a fit:
1. Zach Calzada (Auburn)- Started 9 games as a true freshman at Texas A&M
2. Taisun Phommachanh (Georgia Tech) - Backed up UGI at Clemson and Jeff Sims at GT....#4 dual threat in 2020
3. Peter Costelli (Troy)- has been with Utah and Troy but unable to crack the lineup - Runs like the wind at 6' 3" (anchored his HS 4 x 100m team),
4. Davis Brin (Tulsa) - Knows how to beat UCF...LOL - 6,000 yds passing, 37 TDs, 60% completions......no run threat.
