Gators Collective embarrassing UF

Apparently, this guy is one of the faces of their Collective. Goes on Twitter spaces hammered and goes on rants running off his mouth. Gator fans are pissed and embarrassed… lol

***Signing Day Preview & Live Thread***

The booms have been going off like a Fourth of July finale as we head into National Signing Day.

On Monday and Tuesday, UCF landed a total of nine commitments. And we're not done yet.

First, a reminder of where we are currently:

Current Commit List (21)

High School/JUCO (13):

DE Kaven Call
LB Troy Ford Jr.
QB Dylan Rizk
K Grant Reddick
DT John Walker
DB Braeden Marshall
OL Johnathan Cline
TE Randy Pittman
DB Jason Duclona
WR Tyree Patterson
DB Ja'Maric Morris
DL Andrew Rumph
OL Keyon Cox

Transfers (8):

QB Timmy McClain (South Florida)
LB Antonio Grier (South Florida)
WR Christian Leary (Alabama)
LS Gage King (Arizona State)
DB Fred Davis (Clemson)
DB DeJordan Mask (Texas State)
WR Chauncey Magwood (Kentucky)
OL Marcellus Marshall (Kent State)

Rumph, Cox, Magwood and Marshall were the Tuesday additions.

Players can sign beginning at 7 a.m.

Other names of interest I'll be watching:

QB Malachi Singleton - He's been committed to Arkansas since April, but UCF has remained in the picture. He visited unofficially for a couple games and for a time it looked like he was planning to visit in December. Will he stick with the Razorbacks?

WR Cayden Lee - "Honeycomb" hasn't done any interviews down the stretch (at least not to my knowledge), but three schools are vying for his signature - UCF, Ole Miss and South Carolina. Georgia has remained in the picture, though maybe there's not a committable offer yet from the Dawgs. I feel very positive about UCF's chances here. But I know Ole Miss does too.

OL Amari Kight (Alabama transfer) - Believed to be coming down to either UCF or Auburn. He visited both last week

DE Isaiah Nixon - The cat seems to be out of the bag on this one that the former UCF commit plans to flip back after being pledged to UF. He was the subject of my controversial "Today" thread I made last Thursday. I thought it was going to be announced then, but now it will happen on Signing Day. Florida folks got wind of his plans on Tuesday and spun it as a "mutual parting of ways."

DE Deejay Holmes - I have learned Holmes will not be signing early, but could remain an option for the February signing period.

LB Andrew Harris & Michael Harris - The Lake Brantley twins decommitted from UCF on Sunday following the news T-Will was leaving for Arkansas. They've given conflicting statements on Twitter regarding their intentions, but the truth is they're naive to the process and may not have the best guidance. There's been a report they could be Maryland bound. We'll see.

There's no obvious linebacker replacements I'm aware of. UCF still has to hire a LB coach. Holding on to Antonio Grier is a must though I'm wondering if T-Will may offer him at Arkansas. Jason Johnson has yet to announce a decision about his intentions and whether he will come back to UCF for another season.

CB Braeden Marshall - The UCF commit took a visit to Auburn last week and there was a lot of pressure for him to flip. He has ties to AU and grew up a fan - I believe his dad is an alum. Late chatter has me believing he will stick with UCF, but we'll know for sure around 12 noon when he announces.

??? Mystery Player ??? - Austin Heff (Space Knights) and Stephen Leonard (247) have heard a "secret" name could be flipping to UCF on Signing Day. It's kind of more fun that way. That's why I was hoping Nixon was going to do it last Thursday, so it would happen before UF folks knew what was coming.

There could be some additional action... There's a few more visitors who have been mum on their plans, such as OL Jordan Brown (Charlotte), DB Brian George (Texas A&M), etc.

Gus Malzahn will have a press conference at 3 p.m.

I'm going to join the guys on 365 Sports around 4:30 for their live broadcast as they showcase the Big 12's signing day. It's still sinking in... this is UCF's inaugural Big 12 recruiting class!

There's a basketball game vs. Stetson on Wednesday night too.

We can use this as a discussion thread, but I will also start an "updates only" thread once the first signings come in.

Big 12 recruiting class rankings

So far, On3 is the only site I've seen that includes the 4 new teams in the Big 12 recruiting class rankings, and they have UCF at #7. It also mentions that losing the Harris twins is a "big blow" to the recruiting class - so it would be interesting to see where they rank us if they do indeed end up coming back.

Curious if there are other sites that remembered we're joining the Big 12 next year.

Updated again: Ocoee DT Jordan Phillips goes to Tennessee, transfers to Maryland

UCF defensive tackles coach Kenny Martin starred at Ocoee High School during the 2000s, signing with Western Kentucky in 2008 and going on to have a successful playing career with the Hilltoppers, later coaching for the school as well.

Now part of Gus Malzahn's inaugural UCF staff in Orlando, Martin issued an offer on Thursday to a defensive tackle at his old high school.

Jordan Phillips, who is 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds, already had a relationship with Martin so he wasn't too surprised when he got back in touch.

"I already knew from when he coached at WKU," Phillips said. "He offered me when he was there. He contacted me again now that he's at UCF. He told me he loves the way I play and how the entire staff wanted to offer me."

Being from the Orlando area, Phillips is already pretty familiar with UCF.

"I really like the colors and the program in general really stands out to me," Phillips said. "UCF is a great school and Coach Martin is a great person."

Auburn, Iowa State, Marshall, Miami, Michigan Missouri, Pittsburgh, South Florida and Virginia are among his other offers.

"I weigh 290 pounds right now, but people look at high school guys that heavy and think they're fat boys," Phillips said in a prior interview with Rivals. "But I'm a big, lean 290, and quick off the ball... I have a lot of speed, quickness and aggressiveness on the field."

What will he look for in a school?

"Education is definitely No. 1," Phillips said. "Next would be a good environment for me and also a program where I can play and excel as a student-athlete. My goal going into college will not only be to increase my athleticism, but to also increase my education."
