WOT: Window Seals Losing A/C & Heat?

Pardon the super-off-topic post, but I'm having this issue at my house, and I thought the collective experience on the board could help figure it out.

About 18 mos ago, we bought a new-construction house in Orlando. I think one of the bedrooms may have one or more windows that are not keeping a seal and is releasing cold/ warm air or letting in warm/ cold air (or a compbination of both).

This upstairs bedroom has four windows. This room - and only this room - always seems to run warm, no matter how the a/c was set and despite how much we played with the ceiling vent cover. We even had the a/c company come out, and they didn't find anything wrong and couldn't figure out why it ran warm. We don't have this issue with either of our two bedrooms upstairs or any other room/ space in the house.

During Hurricane Ian, we heard gusts of wind (sort of a whistling sound) coming from upstairs (where this room is located). And, there were a few times where we heard a loud gust, and, when I went upstairs, each time the attic entry cover had been blown ajar. (The attick entry cover is is about 3 - 4 feet from the bedroom doorway and about 15 feet from the nearest window in that bedroom. The cover had sort of been blow upwards towards the attic and off, so that some insulation dropped down.)

During this recent cold spell, this bedroom has been running very cold.

Our builder - naturally - has been slow, noncommunicative, and reluctant to come out and fix any of our issues (despite their promises to the contrary).

Does this sound like a window seal issue to you? If so, do you have a sense of how difficult it would be to repair it?

“We’re going to recruit at a new level”-Gus Malzahn

That was the quote at the introductory press conference. Well we are whiffing on transfers and not bothering to go after key positions for depth(oline, dline, lb, qb) , losing recruits and might lose more, might have the fewest amount of recruits that we ever had. Oh and Gus has never filled out a full recruiting class since he’s been here. Our idiot ad sold us Gus on two facets: offense and recruiting. He’s failed at both aspects. So why does he still have a job?

Let’s be honest if Heupel’s recruiting class fell apart and he failed to recruit after the last 3 weeks we’d have people that would be organizing parties with pitchforks and nooses calling for a glorified lynching. Oh btw, Heupel beat a way more talented Memphis side with a bad backup qb in the conference championship game. Gus got blown out by 17 and scared our best wr to the portal not even the draft. This senile guy quit recruiting in august. Remember how the shill 247 writer said how the Cincinnati win was going to be a “boon to recruiting”? That sure turned out to be true, right?

We need to stop blaming the portal and nil and have serious discussions about how god awful Gus has been. Using a helicopter for a kid with 0 p5 offers as a qb and a low 3 star who doesn’t even start for sta. If this was anyone else UCF fans would be pissed, but for some reason Gus gets a pass.

Oh btw I coached against rizk. Kid had 5 ints against our defense in 2 games this year. He can’t throw more than 20 yards. Take away the medium routes and he gets lost.

2022 has been a wild ride for my family. Military retirement denied so we PCSd, sold our house in FL, moved to Alabama, bought a house, and had a baby.

Because the next two days are going to be very busy for the fam, my family and I wanted to wish everyone in the UCF family a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year.

I hope everyone cherishes every moment you have with your family during the holiday’s. If there is anything we have learned from the loss of UCF family over the past year, tomorrow is never guaranteed.

UCF offensive lineman Lokahi Pauole recently announced he plans to utilize his fifth year of eligibility and will return to the Knights for their inaugural Big 12 season in 2023. He also talked about the upcoming Military Bowl vs. Duke and how he's looking forward to possibly seeing snow.

The Star System is a joke....

I was just chatting with my Auburn super-fan and joking about how they almost flipped Braeden Marshall.

His response was yea but he is just a 3 star and we flipped 4 stars from other schools instead.

I'm like wha? Not knowing too much about Braeden (but glad he stuck with UCF) I went off and googled his name.

Well is he a 3 star or a 4 star? It seems last week when he may have flipped the articles say he is a 4 star. But, now that he didn't flip he is listed as a 3 Star in their articles.

I understand there are rating systems for players and I get that. But, funny how they fudge those stars any which way they want.

I like Gus' response in the presser yesterday. They study film not stars.

I'm sure recruiting sites do have some good analysis but it cracks me up how the media spins it according to the school they cover.

Grading UCF's 2019 Football Recruiting Classes: Hits & Misses

3-4 years is a good time frame to look back at those HS (or JUCO signees) from the "official" 2019 UCF Recruiting Class

HITS: (Multi-year starters and/or 1 year starter with other years as a solid backup)
QB Gabriel (5.7 recruit)
DE Tre-mon Morris Brash (5.7)
Guard: Lokahi Pauole (5.6)
LB Tatum Bethune (5.5)
WR ROK (5.5)
Center: Matt Lee (5.4 recruit)
LB Jeremiah Jean Baptiste (5.4)
DB Tay Gowan (5.4) - 1 year starter (sat out Covid year)

Misses:
DE Dallaz Corbitt (5.6)
DE Jalen Pinkney (5.6)
RB Damarius Good (5.6)
WR Jarrad Baker (5.6)
OL: Alan Adams (5.5)
WR: Justin Menard (5.5)
LB Raymond Cutts (5.5)
DE Kam'ron Green (5.4)
DL William Hancock (5.4)
DB James Tarver (5.4)
K Daniel Obarski (5.4)

Incomplete:
OL Adrian Medley (5.7) (injuries but could be a starter in 2023)
DL Keenan Hester (5.6) - Injuries but had bright spots in 2021
WR Amari Johnson (5..3) Depth then injuries...has a chance in 2023

All 3 of the top recruits (5.7) hit and/or have a chance to make an impact in 2023 because of injury.

Largest group of failures were the 2 star (5.4) group.

Add the hits and incompletes (11 players)...and its a 50% hit rate out of 22 signees...which is above average for a G5 program.

OT: Brian Newberry Named Naval Academy Head Football Coach

Naval Academy Director of Athletics Chet Gladchuk announced Monday that Brian Newberry will be the 40th head football coach at the Naval Academy. Newberry has served as the defensive coordinator at Navy for the last four seasons.

"Coach Newberry is respected and was highly endorsed by many within the Navy football family," said Gladchuk. "Brian is organized, innovative, intelligent, inspirational and brings an expectation of competitive toughness that has made Navy one of the top defensive units in the nation. The span of his experience at a number of institutions, coupled with four years in Annapolis has allowed him to create a vision for Navy football that is all encompassing and very logical as it pertains to the way ahead. Often there comes a time in the careers of highly-accomplished coaches in our profession when documented credibility aligns with logical leadership opportunity and Coach Newberry's time is now."

"I want to thank Chet Gladchuk and Admiral Sean Buck for this incredible opportunity and for their ongoing support and belief in me," said Newberry. "I also want to thank Coach Niumatalolo for taking a chance on me four years ago."

"It is a great honor and privilege to lead this program," continued Newberry. "It is a great responsibility that I fully accept and embrace. I could not be more excited and optimistic about the future of Navy football. The Naval Academy is a special place and we have great young men in our program. Our culture remains strong. I believe whole heartedly in the mission here and have seen firsthand the impact this institution has on the lives of the young men and women who graduate and serve. We will facilitate the values and the mission of the Naval Academy within our program. We will make the Navy football family and all associated with the Naval Academy proud, both on and off the field! Go Navy! Beat everyone!"

Mikey Keene & JRP stats

Mikey Keene 2021:

63.6% completion
-36 rushing
1,694 total yards
18 total TD’s

JRP 2022:
2,404 passing
63.1% passing
841 yards rushing

25 total TD’s

MK the “Gator Slayer” had 125 total yards that game. ONE TWENTY FIVE! MK did not beat UF. ROK was MVP and if not him Bowser.

MK highest total yardage in a game at UCF - 241 vs UCONN (won 1 vs Yale)

JRP games with 300 + total yards
308 in a win vs ranked Tulane.
ECU - 334
Temple - 410
SMU - 343
FAU - 460
SCST - 408

I will always appreciate what MK did for UCF but for those of you who thought he was the man and the better choice at QB…he just wasn’t.

But you’ll move on to the TC & McLain train now so why do I bother…ha! Back-up QB syndrome.

Support whoever is taking the snaps.
